For reference, those tires are, rough estimate, 66% heavier than the Continentals that come on the stock Maverick. About 17 pounds if I'm looking at the right ones.
That's a pretty significant increase in weight, and the heavier the tire is the more energy needs to be expended to get it to spin.
I don't think there's been a vehicle made in the last 40 years that you couldn't hard wire a camera system in to the ignition. You just have to find the right fuse.
EDIT: I'd have to check, but I think I used Fuse 3 on the Hybrid for my cameras. It turns on and off with the ignition. Parking...
Was going to use mine on floor mats, but an online only deal popped up so I bought those with cash. Will probably just use points for oil changes and service.
Yes, but because of how the transmission works you need to pull over occasionally (6 hours) and let the Maverick move on its own for a couple minutes. Otherwise the transmission cooks and you've just opted in to an expensive repair probably not covered by a warranty.
It appears they did the testing in January or February.
In Michigan.
Based on my experience in the last 2 weeks in Pennsylvania, where the temperature dropped 30 degrees almost overnight and my battery output was perceptively worse along with mpg, I suspect that's part of the reason they're...
I'm not sure whats more concerning, that you think you personally hobby-horsed enough computers together to diagnose a reliability trend no one else has, or that you were ripping your friends off by selling 8 year old computers for cost.
Probably the second one.
The Escape has slightly better mpg. In most 'soft stats' like road noise you'll probably find the Escape a better vehicle (This is where the Maverick's cost cutting measures seem to show up the most, as per most reviewers).
The Maverick doesn't have a safety rating yet, but since its on the...
Do you regularly need the towing and bed capabilities of the Ranger? If not, ditch it. Keep in mind if you do need a Ranger every once in a blue moon, its probably cheaper to rent a truck for a day than to own and drive a Ranger all year long.
I was mistaken in that I thought he was talking about ethanol, but he was talking about leaded gasoline. So I went off and a tangent for nothing I suppose.
What do you mean you can't find a Bronco? Every Ford dealership has at least 6 of the damn things laying around.
Granted, they are all horribly overspecced with quite frankly gross market adjustments, but they're there.
