  1. Trans/RDU/PTU service costs

I’m almost there too. Need to pop a couple advil before getting under the Maverick to change my oil/filter etc - but I still end up aching afterwards!
  2. Better performance after transmission oil change ?

Here is a pic of the transmission fluid filter in the hybrid. It is bolted to the fluid pump inside the eCVT. Can’t replace without eCVT removal & disassembly. Meant to outlast the eCVT. With old dirty fluid, however, it may wear out a few weeks before the eCVT croaks:) Edit - picture from...
  3. Trans/RDU/PTU service costs

It will take me 30 minutes just to jack my truck & remove the the 15 cover screws:) Is there a trick to the refill? I hear the 4-5 quarts pour in really slow. Including breaks - I plan on a 3 hour DIY job. I pay myself by the hour so no need for me to rush. Paid breaks too. I’m a great boss!
  4. Trans/RDU/PTU service costs

Here is a pic of the filter in our 8F35 transmissions. Requires removal of transmission and then disassembly to replace. Going to drain & fill my transmission fluid DIY often since that filter has to last a lifetime!
  5. Visor warning stickers removal

Me too. I used stick-on black felt tape to cover those permanent stickers;)
  6. Better performance after transmission oil change ?

If I had the eCVT - I’d do every 4 years. Going to every 2 years on my EB. Overkill on both for sure - but I DIY & enjoy getting under the truck:)
  7. How is your Ecoboost doing on MPG?

Those are fantastic numbers. I assume plenty of highway miles? Have you ever done a manual ā€œauditā€ to check the accuracy of the numbers?
  8. How is your Ecoboost doing on MPG?

I’m hovering around 20mpg on my 25 Lobo. 2K miles on odo & 11 months on calendar. I use Sport Mode with ā€œMā€ (manual) button pushed in and use my paddles. 50% City, 45% Country, 5% Italian Tuneup Freeway trips.
  9. How is your Ecoboost doing on MPG?

Good numbers. What ā€œModeā€ do you typically drive in & do you leave the Stop/Start system activated?
  10. Tested 87, 91 & 93 Octane.

Gas Station Franchisees risk losing their station license if caught using ā€œcounterfeitā€ gas. Scientific analysis is performed by ā€œcorporateā€ through occasional audits. It is possible, however, to cheat and betray our sacred trust. What else, my Big Mac patty is counterfeit?
  11. Tested 87, 91 & 93 Octane.

I would use 87 if I had a hybrid - 91 not worth the added expense. Defeats the purpose of having a hybrid I think. I would use Top Tier like you do though.
  12. Better performance after transmission oil change ?

Your eCVT is much ā€œgentlerā€ on transmission fluid than an EB - which depending on mileage can see improvement (or degradation) depending on mileage. But changing the fluid in your eCVT will be akin to changing your engine coolant. Probably won’t notice any performance change…
  13. Tested 87, 91 & 93 Octane.

If you used 91 instead of 87 over all those miles on your F150 - you would have spent an additional $3,500 or so. What would that have gotten you? 1) Your engine today would get about 10% more horsepower. 2) Would be getting slightly better mpg’s. 3) Your engine would be cleaner & healthier...
  14. Missing features of my 26 Lariat HB

A screen cover would work for #3. Would need to be trimmed & might look tacky?
  15. Tested 87, 91 & 93 Octane.

Any Top Tier octane level will contain the same cleaning additives fyi. However, they squirt more additive into the tank truck depending on octane level being transported. This will not improve performance - at least in the short term. In the long term, however, a slightly cleaner engine raised...
  16. Missing features of my 26 Lariat HB

My ā€œbuttonsā€ are still displayed and function with the screen off (25 Lobo). I turn my screen off if I’m not using navigation. Luckily you do not need to go to settings to turn off. It is the button to the left of hazards on my truck…
  17. Which Engine Would Last Longer?

Hopefully that old ā€˜51 is still on the road somewhere as a ā€œrat truckā€ :) And if not a rat truck - maybe a ā€œresto-mod
  18. Hard downshifting at lower speeds

There are many cases of the Hybrid low speed thunk and a few examples on the EB. There are different causes, however. The Hybrid’s thunk is still an unsolved mystery - while the EB thunk is the auto trans downshifting with a blip of rev matching. When I drive a manual (no longer) and approach...
  19. They Are Everywhere

Yes, there are an increasing number of Mavericks on the road. But if you bought a Tacoma in 2022, you would see THEM everywhere and be oblivious to the Mavericks. Just our minds playing tricks on us;)
  20. They Are Everywhere

Yep. Arizona offers a plate design for us. I pay our DMV $25/yr donation for this btw…
