Bottled up 3 oil samples - Oil Geek, Amsoil, and Blackstone.
SPEEDiagnostix kit (Oil Geek) was $79 all inclusive. Amsoil was $25 but I think I pay for shipping back to them. Blackstone was a free kit - still need to ship & pay.
Will compare results and update on a separate post fyi.
That is NOT a prop rod hole. Tried it once & hood almost fell down. Although I have a 2025 EB - maybe Hybrids have a spare hole…Note there are identical holes on the other side of hood…
I smoke a pipe regularly and a cigar occasionally - and my garage is my smoking lounge. Some folks like to look at the exterior of their Mavericks - but the engine bay is much more impressive to me:)
I leave the side “man door” open for circulation & light…to view the marvel of the 2.0...
I barely have clearance for my little tool. I got them all out in about a minute:)
also took 2 ibuprofen as a preemptive measure. I’m not as flexible as a once was!
Bless me father for I have sinned - it has been 6 months since my last oil change.
But I’m getting my Maverick up on rhino ramps today to do my second oil change….
During my first change, I made this little bit/extender tool to easily remove & replace the 15 cover bolts. I firmly hand tighten...
The length of the OEM prop rod is limited by the length of the radiator on which it clip.
The length is fine if you’re under the hood once a year to check your dipstick. But for those of us under the hood weekly+ took the easy route to come up with longer solutions. As you say - easy, make it...
Deep scratches in black plastic? Rear of bumper or the side of truck’s bumper near the rear wheel?
I have a spare junkyard but perfect Lobo rear bumper painted satin black you can purchase for $1000 plus shipping:)
WIX makes high quality air filters for vehicles - looks like they manufacturer the air filter in my 2025 EB:
First pic WIX, second/third my Motorcraft….
If K&N offered their “DRYFLOW” air filter for our Mavericks - I’d try it. But so far they only offer the oiled filter that has to be occasionally re-oiled. That is a no-go for me.
Do you currently use the oiled K&N in your Maverick, Tim d? If so - any noticeable differences?
I don’t hate the “graffiti inspired” “recycled plastic” Lobo logo front seats on my Lobo - but I don’t like sitting in them.
Too hot - had to get cooler seat covers almost immediately. Would have preferred cloth with better bolstering!
Oh well, whoever buys my Lobo used someday will like the...
Be aware that your 25 EB now has a Mass Airflow Sensor within inches of your air box filter.
I’ve tried the “oiled lifetime” filters on 2 previous vehicles and went back to OEM. OEM Sounded better (less raspy) in both cases. Also “recharging” the oiled filter was too much of a hassle for me...
Oh I wish I were joking.
But I can hit my noggin on the hood latch (ouch) and take an eye out faster than a Red Ryder if I rush around the corner of my garaged truck.
Not to mention the OEM prop rod is wobblier than Hepburn’s head in a helicopter.
So a homemade or aftermarket prop rod is...
I had to use a taller prop rod to gain easier access to the cowl area. The OEM rod, which is limited by the length of the radiator on which it clips - did not raise the hood high enough.
I repurposed a long cardboard tube to fix (for free) the design limitation of the OEM prop rod.
Therefore...
You can spot a 26 Lobo by the Blue Oval on grille vs the 25’s Black Oval.
Peak under truck to see a GPF on a 26 Lobo - maybe on a Job 3 25 model also.
Peak under again to see a spare tire on the 25 Lobo - but not on the 26 Lobo.
There are probably some software changes that will monitor the...
