I can only give you my thought process, but I switched to Alto Blue last week because it's changes color depending on the lighting and I know I will be happy every time I look at the truck. Check out the Alto Blue owners forum for some great pics. I also wasn't 100% sold on the Area 51 I...
You're correct, Rivian's two major backers are Amazon and Ford. Turned out to be a very good investment for both of them!
I think both the Maverick and Rivian could win the award, Rivian for the technology but Maverick for the base hybrid and value proposition. Can't go wrong with either, but...
I, like many others on the thread have said, commute 100 miles a day for work. The Maverick hybrid allows me to get rid of my commuter car and weekend beater truck for house renovation work.
I've never had to replace a headlight assembly on any vehicle so I consider this a non-issue with LEDs. If it's going to fail, it will very very likely be within the warranty period.
I wish being a stockholder would bump my order to the front of the line. Instead I get X-Plan pricing which is worthless when dealers laugh me out of the showroom these days.
I couldn't disagree more. I feel much safer using ACC with a good lane centering system on the highway, especially in any 2+ hour drive scenarios. I'd much rather focus on what other vehicles around me are doing than worry about my speed or staying perfectly centered in the lane.
I suppose some...
I thought the proper response when an oncoming vehicle is in your lane is to always pull to the right. That way if the other driver comes to their senses in time they can pull back towards their lane.
I speculate the following:
2023 Maverick - Hybrid AWD
2024 Maverick - PHEV
2025 Maverick - Maverick Lightning
There's no reason not to offer an AWD hybrid or a PHEV version since Ford already deploys the parts in other vehicles. I suspect they wanted to keep the first year launch "simple" but...
I’ve had an EV as a DD for 7 years and the grid going down has never been a problem for me, but I’ve never lived south of Georgia. I’d much rather have vehicle to grid as an option when losing power for a few days.
