The inverter is only on when the key is in the ACC position. The hybrid will turn the motor on as needed to recharge the battery when using the inverter.

It's 400W shared between the two outlets.

In my case, they said that the connection in the bed was disconnected causing both outlets not to work. Might be worth checking out.

Update: Mobile techs said they were able to solve the issue. They said that there was a connection that the factory "forgot" to plug in. I'm happy that they were able to solve the issue, but between this and the trailer plug recall it really shows that there is below minimal QA testing done...
