Dang, mine does the same thing and it annoys the heck out of me. Definitely going to make a point to have it looked at when they do the trailer light recall.
So the solution is for service techs to hack apart the engine wiring harness and tie it into the headlight circuit? Nice to know if my trailer lights malfunction and short out that my headlights will stop working.
I'd just take it in. Not worth damaging something when you have a new vehicle warranty.
Also, if Ford starts getting massive reports of stuff not getting plugged in, maybe they'll actually do some QC at the factory and stuff like this and the trailer lights recall would get fixed before the...
The inverter is only on when the key is in the ACC position.
The hybrid will turn the motor on as needed to recharge the battery when using the inverter.
There's actually quite a bit of difference between the window auto down circuitry and the window auto up/down circuitry.
The auto down just needs to run the window down until it hits the bottom limit and it can use a auto-reset fuse to check for overload conditions.
An auto up-down needs to...
Update:
Mobile techs said they were able to solve the issue. They said that there was a connection that the factory "forgot" to plug in.
I'm happy that they were able to solve the issue, but between this and the trailer plug recall it really shows that there is below minimal QA testing done...
My 2023 XLT Lux with 4k towing inverter doesn't work.
Neither the bed outlet or the center console outlet has voltage in any key position.
My truck does have the recall for the trailer lights, so I'm wondering if it could be an issue with the harness.
Anybody else have this issue?
My truck is...
Seriously, how does a truck get through an assembly line without someone plugging a tester into the trailer ports?!
Humans make mistakes and forget to plug things in, damage wires, or otherwise screw things up.
And this is just the running lights. Imagine if the supplier "forgot" the wire for...
Looks like my truck is hit with the recall.
Does anyone know if this affects the 4 pin connector as well or is it just the 7 pin connector that is missing the running lights? Really hoping to get the boat out this summer since waiting on my Maverick for over a year meant I missed out on last...
