  1. 2024 Maverick Hybrid - Acceleration Loss on Highway

Not at all. I'm saying the vehicle should prompt with a warning, then give you time to pull over and shut it off without compromising your ability to safely do so. Limp mode is fine after restarting, the driver can make an unhurried decision on continuing the journey at that point. Doesn't...
  2. 2024 Maverick Hybrid - Acceleration Loss on Highway

Yeah, misunderstood the original post. That being said, a loss of power at any time creates a serious safety hazard. Imagine if it happens when passing on a two lane road, or crossing a multiple lane highway and you are counting on the vehicle responding as normal. Still believe a warning...
  3. Looking for tire recommendations for smooth ride

Just installed Pirelli Scorpion AS+3's. They seem to ride as well as the worn out Conti's, and have an 800 UTQG rating. Normally run 33/34 psi front and 32/33 in the rear if not carrying a load, for ride quality. Cheers.
  4. 2024 Maverick Hybrid - Acceleration Loss on Highway

It must have been unnerving for your wife. Just unbelievable that it was programmed to shut off power under these circumstances, versus giving a warning to pull over when safe. NHTSA complaint for sure. Cheers.
  5. Doing brakes yourself

My '22 hybrid seems finicky. Have had it work no issues, but one time it was reluctant. Cheers.
  6. Hybrid Maverick brakes - replace at how many miles?

Wow, you must brake pretty hard for the pads to be worn that much on a '24. I would ask for the old pads back if/when you get them changed to keep the shop honest. Cheers.
  7. POLL - Hybrid Transmission Grinding/Lurching

Mine lurches now almost every day when below freezing, seems worse than previous years. Spoke to another hybrid owner last week, says his does the same thing. Cheers.
  8. Charging the main battery on a Maverick with a charger?

Welcome to the world of AI. There is no Arthur. Cheers.
  9. Frustrated by Android medias players on the 2025 Maverick

Do you know if the AI box (I use one with my '22 XL-it's fantastic) will work with Ford head units capable of wireless Android Auto? It won't work with my son's Toyota with wireless capability. Cheers.
  10. Chinese parts in Ford Mavericks... are there any? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Might be the least of our worries. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/commentary/article-the-us-tried-trumpian-tariffs-before-almost-100-years-ago-and-it-was-a/ Cheers.
  11. Maverick '23 Tranmission Jerking on Cold Start at first Stop Light

Agreed. Mine becomes much worse during the winter. Seems especially bad this winter for some reason, I assume it is due to shorter trips than before. Saw the OP is in San Diego, figured that cold wouldn't be so much an issue there. Cheers.
  12. Maverick '23 Tranmission Jerking on Cold Start at first Stop Light

Hopefully Ford addresses this issue with a software update, haven't seen reference to one for this particular issue though. I'm holding off on any revisions for the time being, to get the most up to date software available when it's time. Great vehicle hampered by a lot of under cooked code...
  13. Maverick '23 Tranmission Jerking on Cold Start at first Stop Light

My '22 does it, and there have been several threads on the issue. On ours it seems that the programming for charging/temp. controlling the HV battery is unrefined under certain circumstances. During an initial stop it appears that the engine is hunting to match it's output to the load from the...
  14. Dealer driving car to me - worried about break in period

Modern manufacturing (crankshafts excluded:crackup:) and better materials make it less important than in past decades. Cheers.
  15. Dealer driving car to me - worried about break in period

They're not abusive during the roll test, it's a monitored process. It does sound like the vehicles are working hard during the run up, though. Probably the optimum initial break in process for ring sealing. The shippers are working to a schedule, but it's a short drive to the train. Cheers.
  16. Dealer driving car to me - worried about break in period

Take the delivery. If you saw how all the vehicles are roll tested and driven by the shippers at the factory this wouldn't be on your radar. Cheers.
  17. Cold engine + neutral = bucking bronco

Couldn't have said it better. Cheers.
  18. Random high revving

My '22 just did this for the first time in 75k kms. creeping out of a parking lot. Far higher revs than it has ever done for battery charging in the past, and my Prius never charged this hard either. Only lasted a few seconds but was definitely out of the norm. No recent software updates...
