The running light pin of the socket has a 20 amp fuse. That may be enough amps for some lifts but likely not enough for many.
Each right/left turn/brake pin has a 10 amp fuse. Certainly too weak.
The in-bed connections each have 15 amp fuses. Used together in parallel with equal length cables...
6'1", and the door is plenty large enough for me.
I consider a cab that is just big enough to be much better than the alternative of bigger than necessary. I also like 2 seat convertables.
Knobs that quickly get to a desired setting without even having to look at them are good.
Buttons that require multiple pushes to get a setting, like temperature or fan level, are not good.
Controls that require diverting eyes from the road are bad.
Needing to browse through menus to find a...
I never planned to put anything on my 2.0 EB hitch but a bike rack. Then I had a need to haul a 16 ft trailer with furniture. My worry that the Mav really being a passenger SUV drive train with a cosplay lightweight unibody shaped like a truck would get pushed around by the trailer was...
I have not studied the different modes, but normal seems to keep the torque converter unlocked in low gears at low speeds, and keep the RPM low, and does downshift down hills somewhat to help control speed. Eco upshifts a little earlier and locks the torque converter more often and seems to...
What transmission mode are you using?
Eco, towing, normal, sport, etc. all are characterized by different upshift and downshift behavior, and different torque converter locking/unlocking also. The differences are not problems, but simply computer software settings.
A downshift in cruise...
I had a great conversation with a car designer on a cross country flight in the '90s. Then I told him that a three row sedan would be far more appealing than a mini van, and even better with six doors. He seemed to think I was insane. Weird, because a stretch limo is most definitely highly...
Use a trailer that uses your 4k tow package's electric brakes. A maverick doesn't weigh much, about 3500 lbs empty, so you will appreciate trailer braking in evasive situations. A 4k lb trailer without brakes will double your stopping distance.
My guess why the manual says to not manually move the wipers is that some people may rotate them way too far and break the mechanism. No more than normal operating movement (less than 90 degees for the driver side) should be manually attempted.
I love the blue, mostly because I hate black as an interior color. Color isn't a deal breaker for me like it used to be, like when I bought a Toyota instead of a Ford only because of the interior color. I will always choose gray/tan/blue over black if given an option, but now will settle for a...
Those bed seats look like fun!
To clarify my suggestion for the straps with a triangular shape, the strap over the yellow handebar bike would connect to the cleat behind the black handlebar bike, and then to third cleat evenly spaced on the other side. The result is two straps on one bike...
Forks are pretty tough, but only if both sides are securely fastened.
If one side of the fork is loose and pops out, the other side will bend with minor vibration, wind buffeting, braking, and crosswind forces. That's why most newer hitch mount bike racks hook onto the top of the bike frame...
The convenience of loading the bikes clamping the forks from the side is very nice! Let us know how it works out. I may change to your design instead of my hitch mount rack for short trips.
If the bungee side does not pass the highway speed test, may I suggest strapping the rear of the bikes...
'09 Camry. It was the lowest total cost of fuel, maintenance, and purchase price of a vehicle I ever had. Never failed in 160k miles and never got me stuck on dirt roads in the woods. But it was not fun. Also used to have a '96 F-250 that was really powerful and could haul serious tonnage. But...
There is surprisingly little conversation in this forum about electric trailer brakes. I would be very hesitant to tow any trailer that weighs more than half what the 3500 lb Maverick weighs at highway speeds, or on mountain roads, without a trailer equipped with electric brakes (and the...
I'm glad that others think of these things, I felt that I'm the only one! Every car should have that feature, even if only when the transmission is in Park.
Soaking the windshield with tje washers is very very very handy at gas stations that don't keep squeeges with water. On road trips in...
Total weight of the crane and the item it is lifting is **NOT** the main problem. The problem to solve is leverage.
For example, lifting 500 lbs at the end of a 4 ft arm will create 500×4= 2000 ft-lbs of torque where the crane arm is mounted. The sheet metal of the bed will CERTAINLY bend and...
The bluetooth switched off strategy still works for me make uninterrupted calls using Android.
The problem may not technically be a Ford problem. The Sync is a Microsoft product. Ford may need to deal with the overhead of a contract to fix this. Perhaps it would be faster to raise the...
One correction, turns out I have a Galaxy A14 not A10. Likely that does not matter much to your work with Ford but it may. I will wager its a software problem not bad hardware because it is so very repeatable at exact 90 second intervals, at least for me, and the hardware works using your...
