    That's the benefit to an extended / crew cab. You can slide the seat back further. I'm not particularly tall, but have long legs. Driving a standard cab (old) Ranger is very uncomfortable, my knees hit the dash. Extended cab (old) Ranger and I'm fine.

    What you are describing is a perpetual motion machine. Which is impossible, and ignores losses through friction, heat and efficiency.

    On my 14 Ford Transit Connect, "Sport mode" makes the trans shift harder. Shifts "might" be a tiny bit higher. For whatever reason, the shift is sloppy in D, so I am in the habit of pulling the lever all the way down to "S".

    For what it's worth, there is no need to splice wires. A "pin pusher" costs about $7, and has an assortment of blades to disconnect individual pins in a harness. Just push out, and swap. Splicing wires is OK, but too many people think wires twisted together and taped, or a plain butt connector...
