A few similarities between me and you. I"m also driving a Kia Soul (highly underrated imho....lots of cargo room, spacious back seats).....
I think the main question is if those 20 miles are city roads or highway? The Ecoboost seems to be pretty efficient on the highway, but drop significantly...
Interesting. I was planning on using my credit union because of the extremely low rates. We'll see how that goes. The easy option is to finance through the dealer, and then re-finance the loan through the cheaper option. I've done this a couple times before as my credit union has the same rate...
That's dealer pricing for you. My dealer wanted to charge me $150 to replace a brake bulb, air filter, and in-cabin filter. Cost me $25 in parts and 15 minutes. Could have been faster, but I thought it was a good teaching experience to walk through the steps with my 15 year old kid, and show him...
I went with Area-51. Really close to changing a couple times while waiting (cyber orange, and velocity blue)...but I keep coming back to Area-51. The shades of the blue/gray in different lighting is really appealing to me. Almost looks like it changes color.
I don't think there's ANY car made that's a true loss leader. Definitely not as much money to be made by Ford on a bare bones vehicle, but I bet those base model Maverick XL hybrids will end up being a HUGELY popular fleet vehicle. Cable companies/park districts/maintenance companies/etc that...
Not that it should cost $125.....but the jetta has a splash guard that must be removed in order to change the oil. 8 screws, 3 bolts, and then a couple of locking tabs to get it off. Kind of a pain in the ass. Definitely additional time required....so it should be a little more expensive.
EPA numbers were based on Regular Gasoline......not premium.

Looking into it now. It looks great! But will the pricing be similar to Line-X? Those prices the lineX guy gave me seem crazy for a Maverick compact bed. But then again, I've got no experience in this....so maybe they aren't far off?
I deleted the spray-in and was lucky enough to get my order scheduled to build in November. I REALLY wanted to factory liner because it has a cool (my opinion) ford logo in it. Now that I'm looking at aftermarket liners, my wallet is starting to hurt. I just heard back from my local Line-X...
Looks like the emails went out much later than usual. Congrats to those that got lucky! Hopefully, there will be many more posts tonight/tomorrow as people might have given up around lunchtime and stopped checking email........
I wouldn't put ice in the underseat storage. If someone really needed to have a "built-in" cooler, better off getting one of the swing out toolboxes for the bed and drilling a hole in the bottom of it.....but I still think it'd be a waste of $. And if it's a hybrid, there's a battery under one...
