Been down this road, its very expensive to get a patent & someone can make the same thing with a minor change & not violate the patent. Even if they did copy your design, in court most of the time the one with the deepest pockets wins. Not trying to discourage you but the patent system is broken...

If you look at the hinge there's a vertical bolt on each 1. remove the 2 10mm bolts & the body check strap bolt, then you can lift the door off the pivot pins No alignment necessary when reinstalling
