*UPDATE*
I tried the prybar method, didn't come close to budging.
Out came the tow strap and I dropped it into low with tow mode on. I was gentle on the gas and kept it under 2k rpm. After 3 tries, immediately gave up as the dumpster didn't even wiggle.
By some miracle the truck showed up...
I like this idea as a first attempt, although I suspect the axle and bearings of that car have much less friction than the rusty roll off "wheels". I'd love to see the rolling resistance comparison, haha.
Maybe I get some block and tackle and test Archimedes' theory.
It's a 10 yarder filled about half full with dirt. Spec's on a 10 yard are 3500lb empty, and cubic dirt can come in like 1500lb a yard. I think 10k is a reasonale guess. It's on rollers so i might try it. They at least put ply wood under the rollers to protect driveway.
I've got a problem. A contractor has left a roll off dumpster in front of my garage, and the company is having "trouble" picking it up. It's blocking the door from opening (they dropped it too close when I wasn't home).
My question for everyone is, could/should I use my Mav with 4k tow to...
No recent service? Nothing left open in the cab? Something condensed on there, or was already on there and then reacted with something else. For that to happen overnight is very strange.
I've done Freeway miles in the mid 30's, somewhere around 34-35 with 91 octane. That was 65mph, cruise control on, no load and only me. You can get some good mpg's if you baby it and drive like your grandma.
In my head I'm imaging an Inuit family emerging from their Igloo, snow and ice as far as the eye can see. They pan from left to right, enjoing the beautiful artic morning, and suddenly see a brand new Lariat 2.0EB with AWD and tow package sitting there.
Motorcraft oil is really just Conoco-Phillps. It meets all requirements of the EB engine (if you get the right kind). Full synthetic will last you longer and hold up better during extreme conditions. The big knock on MC full syn is the price. It's higher than other Full synth for the same...
I use the ford pass points I got when I purchased the truck on Full synthetic and filter, both Motorcraft. Once warranty is over I'll probably switch to Mobil 1 or something similar.
I've had a few bad experiences with dealerships not changing oil filters, leaving loose lug nuts, etc so I do...
From the looks of it, the impact didn't go through your hitch receiver? I think that's the death sentence, as the receiver translates the energy directly into the rails. Your bumper looks crumpled, which I think is a good sign. I had a similar accident (very new truck as well) that required...
If the step itself is destroyed, that absorbs some of the energy. I actually took it a "step" further (pun intended) and added a shock absorbing step to my Mav. It's a called a "sparebumper". The step itself has internal/external shock absorption and the reviews are pretty good.
it's just...
Yep. My dad still has his 2003 Ranger and loves it. His 2018 F150 sits in the driveway most days. He'll get an offer to buy the Ranger once a month or so.
It's just so much easier to drive/park, and still gets the job done on trips to home depot. The F150 is for camping or boat hauling...
A buddy of mine has an F350 Power stroke. He's not really a truck bro, just wanted something to haul a 5th wheel for camping.
His 8 year old son had a confused look on his face when he saw my Mav for the first time. He asked "Why is your truck so small?"
My response, in earshot of his dad...
With the Maverick's bed, the SLO PD can now load up on more college kids getting aressted for Drunk in Public while walking home to the dorms.
I went to college in SLO, that's like 99% of all police activity, except for the once-a-decade serial killers.
Taken from a law firm:
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, rear-end collisions are the most common type of accident in the USA. These accidents chalk up a whopping 29% of all accidents.
Tailgating is the most frequent cause of these accidents. People are in a rush...
As an EcoBoost owner, and a believer in improved Engine performance (Turbos) with higher Octane, I gas up with 91.
I'm lucky because I have a Costco close by, and the diff is $0.30/gallon. Costco 91 is actually cheaper than the other "Top Tier" Station's 87. I'm also lucky because I hit the...
To jump in on this one, I believe "Engine Performance" in this context is more than just HP. For example, a Science Direct article about the ICE contains this definition:
Engine performance is often characterized by the engine operating behavior in the speed–load domain, for example, the...
