  1. Maverick Becoming Iconic

How about some missed opportunities? I bought a 1969 Honda CB750 when I got home from Vietnam. I kept it for about 10 years then traded it in for $900. Do you know what a "Sandcast" version like I had goes for today? In the early 1990s a guy I worked with offered me his dusty, 1965 427 Corvette...
  2. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

"That makes zero sense." Quote from Proflig8tor. The point is, that was a flippant comment I copied elsewhere. It illustrates the complete idiocy of those who want to "End fossil fuels." We CANNOT end fossil fuels, because that would require a loss of many different things besides fuels that...
  3. Survived the worst hailstorm in my life

I used to lead bikers on motorcycle rides here in PA. Once while we were in a restaurant eating our lunch a hail storm, about like the O.P. put up, hit our area. I have a Honda ST1100 to which I added some fog lights on the forks. There is a rocker switch on the fairing and didn't those little...
  4. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

There should be a law that all electric vehicles can only be charged by wind or solar power. If you're giving up fossil fuel, then give it up.
  5. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

If anybody that buys a full EV vehicle thinks they are saving the environment, I have news for you. No you are not. You create more pollution just mining the elements out of the earth, and transporting/processing them to make the batteries and when you recharge, you are just, most likely, using...
  6. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I'll bet I drove a full electric vehicle long before anyone else on here. 1974. https://www.renaultgroup.com/en/news-on-air/news/henney-kilowatt-the-american-electric-dauphine/
  7. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

This non-plug in Maverick Hybrid is as *#*@^* GREEN as I will get. The ONLY green I care about is what's in my wallet after pumping gas. I am not interested in raising my electric bill. And there is a guy in Virginia who did a you tube video comparing an identical trip in his Maverick Hybrid...
  8. Ford rust out

I'm sure that would work if you kept your truck in the water.
  9. Ford rust out

A guy that used to work for me owned a car repair business. I have rust proofed a vehicle I bought in 2017 and it still looks okay after 6 winters in the rust belt. Anyway, I told him I thought this Maverick will be a rust bucket in short order if I don't do something. He suggested I look into...
  10. What's Your Personal Best Fuel Economy?

The extra fuel above 13.8 gallons is to protect the electric fuel pump from failing.
  11. VERY loud and probably VERY BAD noise coming from my Hybrid

I am going to assume the eCVT circulates the same oil as the engine and they share one drain point. If that is the case and you are seriously concerned about the thumping, I recommend an oil analysis. I don't know if Blackstone is familiar enough with this engine and drive system to point to a...
  12. Hybrid AC 'Problem'.

At 5'11" I don't wish to drive slumped over.
  13. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

And I wrote in my previous post: "Number four, variable cam timing control system problem and the 13 to 1 compression."
  14. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

You should know what is in the specs. Page 368, Owners Manual, Compression Ratio 13:1.
  15. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

I picked up my hybrid on Friday the 26th, after 594 days. I can only speculate what is causing the failures, so I will list all I can think of. (I used to build piston engines for a large corporation.) Number 1, Connecting rod failure. Number 2, piston pin failure. Number 3, piston failure...
  16. Hybrid AC 'Problem'.

Mine seems okay as far as setting the temperature goes, but there is one thing about the air system I do NOT like. I want the air to blow towards my face, but when you angle the vent that direction, they shut off. What's up with that?
  17. Military Discount Through 07/05/2023

Well, this will be interesting. When I finished the deal last Friday, MAy 26th, the F&I man asked if I was a veteran. I told him I spent three years in the Army including a year in Vietnam.
  18. Alto Blue and PPF

I would leave it on if you like it. However, if you later on decide to remove it, heat it up gently with a hair dryer and peel very slowly. Don't pull straight out at 90 degrees to the surface, but pull back horizontally. That may prevent any paint from pulling off.
