Somewhere in the dusty archives of black and white newsreels, there is one of a TriMotor being flown by a daring pilot who did a loop over the runway. He was at low altitude to start with and at the bottom end of the loop, he bounced off the runway. If he was two feet lower, he would have wadded...
According to the symptoms described, it sounds to me like a crack in the plastic intake manifold. On an old carbureted engine it could cause a lean cylinder and possibly result in a burned piston.
On the Hybrid engine we have direct cylinder fuel injection, so the only possible problem would be...
I'll bet if we gently close the door and just give it a little nudge if it doesn't shut all the way, it would not lock us out. It has to be the switch contacts that lock the door have too weak of a spring in them.
Kermit Weeks had a TriMotor that was damaged in a Hurricane. He sent the wreckage to a specialist in Michigan who had the necessary tooling to fabricate the complicated curved and tapered corrugated skin parts. On disassembly, he showed Kermit that for him to have continued flying that plane...
Same here. Our 2017 CRV has a better auto hold system. In the Maverick I have to turn it off when easing into the garage. It takes more of a push on the gas pedal to get it moving and when it does move, it's a little too much.
To all who questioned if I touched something to cause the problem on my way out the driver's door, nope. At least seven others are reporting the same issue. The issue is a weak switch in the driver's door which locks that door when closed with a little force. It just vibrates the contact points...
About 50 or 60% of the time when I get out of the Maverick and shut the door, the driver's door locks by itself. I can open the other doors but this indicates a problem with the switch or harness, in the driver's door.
Has anyone else noticed this problem on their Maverick?
I have a brand new, unused one I'll sell you for $200. It's a big long box though and shipping would probably cost more than the gas to come and get it. It's a Gator soft roll up. I ordered the wrong one. I wanted a trifold.
And cover up certain items. Also, what about if the service department changes your oil and leaves off the lower splash shield? I think anyone that happens to has a case against the service department employee that left it off.
