Creative thinking, but you would be laughed out of the showroom for suggesting something like that - and then ridiculed ruthlessly once you left and for all eternity thereafter.
Thanks for your perspective on this. Hang in there! As someone who also works in a dealership (though not Ford), this is not a surprising scenario from Ford and I've seen it with every manufacturer I've worked with.
Specifically related to Ford, it seems especially funny that the same...
My thoughts too - sure the stuff technically fits, but that sure seems like a road hazard. Not sure this solution for lumber hauling is better than using the secondary tailgate angle and letting it hang out the back. To each their own, but happy not to be driving behind OP with that load. 😬
With all the functionality of a tonneau and the dry storage capacity of a hardshell cap, this seems like a pretty practical option. I've seen these on several Tacos in my area and thought it was clever. Not my favorite look, if I'm honest, but tough to argue with the function.
ETA: Thanks for...
Contacted my dealer to ask about the SIBL & cargo combo platter - they were unaware and still don't see anything on their end. As far as they know SIBL is no longer constrained, but the cargo system would delay the order. Sounds like old info maybe?
Some people don't want a bigger truck. Just because you get more lbs of truck for the same money, doesn't mean it's a better buy. My Mav is optioned to about $38k - I could find an F-150 for that, especially if I'm ok with basic equipment. That's 👏 not 👏 what 👏 I 👏 want.
FWIW, I always used a torque wrench on my lugs when doing my own tinkering. I'm a bit surprised the recommended torque is that high for the Mav though. I mean, I guess Ford would know, but more than 100 ft/lbs seems excessive for the size/weight/power.

Grab yourself one of these, mix a bucket extra soapy, and wash away. The clay will pull surface contaminants off - I used this exact thing to get road paint off the rocker panels of my car.

I don't even have my Maverick yet, but this is something that annoys me, even as someone who ordered all the ADAS stuff. It just seems like one of those things that doesn't need "optimizing". Just let the occupants of the vehicle control their own HVAC or at least offer a full manual mode.
Definitely fair. The public charging issue is likely to get worse too, with the addition of many, many new full-electric models becoming available. Infrastructure is already relatively lacking and is slower (and more expensive) to rollout than a sexy new EV. There are a ton of resources being...
Funny, that. The fallout from "Diesel-gate" and subsequent penalties to VW are what created Electrify America, who then constructed the largest public (non-Tesla) DC fast-charging network in the US.
I would echo the others that have mentioned a standalone Garmin unit, especially if you like to venture off-pavement. I think the time/money/headache of upgrading your OE system would be pretty easily offset by the ease of investing in a standalone unit.
Ahh the old false equivalency argument. This is a thread started by the Admin of our forum to promote a new sister forum. Given that the audience here is interested in small, efficient pick-ups, it seems a pretty appropriate place to start to gather membership.
The fun part is, if you want...
