The truck needs a bath badly, but the weather cleared up this afternoon, so I hauled the new wheel and tire combo up from the basement.
They look super-aggressive, and the Bronze looks great with the Oxford White. Pics taken fresh off of the jack, so the suspension will settle a bit. I'm...
In the long run, you're probably not going to save a whole lot of money over buying a pre-mounted set from Tire Rack or Discount Tire (same company now). You're going to pay a shop to mount and balance them, and I hate to say it--many shops "upcharge" this service if you don't buy the tires...
Today arrived with super warm temps, so I had quite a list to work on. First, I pressure-washed and de-salted the undercarriage first thing this morning with this:

Those 12mm won't fit a Maverick, you need 14mm x 1.50. I've always used the Gorilla small diameter splined lug nuts on all of my vehicles, including the Mav.
Thanks for your input. It's just odd that the LED rings on the switches illuminated without any ground hooked up. Maybe once I get all of this installed in the truck and get the grounds hooked up, it will magically work the way I planned for it to. Good to know that I'm not losing my mind...
I was hoping you'd chime-in @Sticks; you work for DD, don't you?
Going off of memory here, but IIRC, on each push button switch, the red and blue wires are tied together, then one blue/red is connected to the blue wire and the other blue/red is connected to the yellow wire going out to the...
First-off, let me say I'm pretty handy when it comes to automotive wiring, but I've over-complicated my last install and I'm not sure where to go from here.
I'm installing a set of DD SSC2 ditch lights, but instead of using their supplied 3-way switch, I'm using a pair of these: APIELE 16mm...
I was finally able to get the first oil change done this afternoon. It was the first day above 30 degrees in weeks. Six quarts of Mobil 1 5W30 and a Motorcraft FL400S filter. I was not expecting the "skid plate" to be as beefy as it is.
To anyone who's received their '25 Tremor, can you please post a close-up picture of your rocker panel graphics? I'm looking to add some H8-ish vinyl to mine similar to the '25s and need to see what the layout looks like.
Thanks.
My UPR catch can just arrived. I was hoping that Damond would have one available, because I prefer having a valve and drain hose as opposed to unscrewing a cup to empty, but I didn't want to wait.
Damond said they were probably a year off and UPR had a sale going on, so I jumped on it.
I also have a set of custom bed-side Tremor decals coming to replace the stockers that have started peeling. I'm having them made with some reflective white details which should be pretty cool.
I have a roll of door edge guard on the way to protect the back edge of the hood from the wiper arms. What a stupid design and engineering flaw; the paint is trashed all along the back edge.
I'll hit it with some touch-up paint and then slap on the trim once the weather gets much warmer.
Also required if you use any kind of fuel additive or stabilizer/dry gas for winter months. If you try to pour straight from the bottle (without using the funnel), it will just pour onto the ground. I made this mistake once with the Focus.
As promised, my next project was modifying the fender vents, just for something a little different. At first my plan was to make a mesh insert that would fit into a few slots in the vents, while leaving the backing panel intact.
After much fiddling and aggravation, I decided to just grind the...
I've been checking to see if they were going to be available for the past couple of months, but I gave up and decided to go another route and just customize a set of BAP Lariat ones that I got off of eBay.
Going to color-match and make a honeycomb mesh insert. Working on them this weekend.
My Diode Dynamics SSC2 Ditch Light Kit arrived yesterday. I've been working on getting the switches installed in both the "trailer brake control" panel and the F150 headlight switch assembly, along with building out the pigtails to use with the DD HD wiring harnesses.
The switches are these...
Try a secondary vendor. I ordered my DD Ditch Light kit from RealTruck because they offered free shipping. DD's website said 8-week lead-time and they were charging shipping. I got them in about 10 days thru RT and they were drop-shipped from DD. YMMV, depending on whether or not anybody else...
This is the one for the Lariat, if you want it to work with your DRLs.
