A V8 should fit just fine in...the bed. Even a 'Yote would fit with those big ol' heads. Lift with a cheery picker or forklift, set it on an old tire and ratchet-strap it in there. Easy Peazy
I'd have gotten Avalanche if it had been available in '24. We bought Oxford White because it was on the lot and ready to go; the Wife didn't want Shadow Black or Carbonized Gray.
They picked it up again today. I told them to keep it all week, but that it had better be 100% fixed by Friday. On the Plus side, they gave us a '25 F150 SuperCrew STX 4x4 with the 2.7 EcoBoost-scoots pretty well for such a big truck, way too big for me.
Dropped off today. Technician actually did his job and did some troubleshooting. As expected, it has a bad wheel speed sensor. Of course, after getting the pop ups on startup, all of the dash lights disappeared 5 minutes into the 30-minute drive to the dealership. Part has been ordered.
"So, Mr. Ford Technician, you're saying it's the 1/2" taller tires and aftermarket wheels that are causing this!" Per the Service Depts advise, I swapped the stockers back on, with photo documentation. We took it out to dinner on Friday, 100-mile round trip, then weekly grocery shopping on...
12.6 volts when running; definitely should be above 13V when running. When I called, I told the Service Writer that I thought it might be a battery issue, but they obviously never put a meter on the battery. They just looked at the aftermarket tires and wheels and put blame on them, which we...
With all of the battery issues everything seems to have lately, that was my first thought. Truck has less than 4000 miles on it, but it does at least have an AGM battery in it.
The past three days, the Mrs. has gotten into the Maverick and at startup, the dash was lit up with the following messages and more:
Pre-Collision Assist Not Available
Service AdvanceTrac
Hill Start Assist Not Available
Lightning Bolt Dead Head symbol (battery?)
Two Wheel Peel symbol (traction...
I initially considered this cat-back, but it still routes underneath the rear diff like the stocker, which I just don't like. I ended up getting the AFE Rebel side exit. Fitment is a bit fiddly to get the tips to sit right, but quality is great. It's loud, but not LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, it sounds...
It warmed-up a bit this afternoon, so I decided it was time to get my cat-back installed.
AFE Rebel Series Side Exit with stainless tips. Very easy install. Looks great and sounds pretty good.
Also did some "Proof of Concept" vinyl work on the rocker graphics; the OE ones just seem unfinished...
I was messing around with some vinyl that I had kicking around. The '23-'24 Tremor rocker decals have always looked a bit unfinished to me, so I added some Metallic Orange vinyl from the end of the graphic to the wheel well as a "proof of concept". I have some Metallic Copper vinyl on the way...
