SWM is growing on me. At first I thought it was dumb, but seeing vehicles in person makes you do a double-take. It's a white that looks like it's in the shade even when in direct sunlight. It plays tricks on your eyes.
FYI, Ford updated the Maverick webpage to show the 2026 MY. This new blue color does not appear to be available on the Lobo or Tremor. Which is a huge bummer, because that blue might have looked awesome with the Tremor's orange accents. Missed opportunity for Gulf GT40 vibes, IMO.
They are conspicuously NOT mentioning the Lobo as one of the trim levels that this package would be available for, which makes me wonder if they have some other reveal planned for the Lobo later this week. I'm sure some Tremor guys would like the engine upgrades as well.
This would only be a slightly lighter blue than the SEMA build that inspired the Lobo. If they offer this on the Lobo, I would definitely consider it. With the white wheels, it would look amazing.

I've been saying for a while that the Mustang's new "Adriatic Blue Metallic" would look amazing on a Maverick, especially the Lobo or Tremor. It would look good on the BS, too.
I'd be willing to bet that if we ever get a more radical version of the Maverick, it'll be a "Raptor" variant. Needlessly expensive, high performance off road trucks sell like hot cakes, while street trucks are definitely more niche. I'd love Ford to prove me wrong, though.
As a side note- I...
Exactly this. While I would have liked to see the Lobo be a little more radical, you see a lot of complaints about the price tag. Ford probably knew a more expensive Lobo would have a very small market.
It's pretty obvious to me that the Lobo was the brainchild of some some folks in Ford management that when, probably after a few beers, realized they could take the Tremor rear axle and parts-bin it into a street truck. It's a pretty neat idea for what it is, but the marketing definitely...
Yea, it's definitely a feature normally used for child seats, but some (most?) Corvettes have it on the driver's seat for the purpose of aggressive driving and I've always held out hope that other manufacturers would follow suit 😄
Since it's a planetary gearset, it's probably still using all the same mechanical bits that the 8-speed uses, but just uses one less combination of clutch engagements to "skip" second gear. Probably. Planetary gears are weird.
Thanks for the continued updates. This is good stuff.
I take it that the Lobo driver seatbelt does not have the feature where it switches to a ratcheting mode when you pull it all the way out?
Agreed, the Ranger is a bit heavy for its size, but a lowered version with a real LSD (not the electric locking one) and a street-tuned version of the Raptor's 4-Link rear suspension could be a legit street truck and probably more drift-able than the Maverick. Hell, I'd even be happy with the...
Agree with @colinl . It would be very disappointing if Ford brings back the sport/street truck only to kill it after a couple years. Desires for exclusivity aside, it would be better for the enthusiast community as a whole if the Lobo trim became a standard offering as a ying to the Tremor's...
You are doing the Lord's work with these posts. One of my biggest frustrations as a prospective Lobo buyer has been the relative lack of track or performance driving tests and reviews from any of the big name car review establishments. Thank you sir and please keep it coming.
Regarding the...
Sounds like Ford's decision to include the better front brakes and additional engine cooling wasn't just for brochure brownie points.
So, did your mods help mitigate under steer? Was the truck more neutral/rotate better?
