Some of us want the driving experience of a car while having access to the utility of a truck. That was basically my #1 reason for getting a Maverick (Lobo) and not a Ranger.
... And I also own a Mustang. 😄
I am not opposed to free market competition, but currently there is no ethical way for US companies to even get close to competing on cost with Chinese manufacturing. As a communist state, the Chinese government heavily subsidizes their manufacturing. In many cases, Chinese manufacturers get...
The FX4 with the 4K tow is an underrated package on these trucks. I'm surprised how few of them I see. If the Lobo didn't exist, I might have bought one of them. Nice truck!
I'm 41, so I don't know if I qualify as being a "young owner", but I definitely don't fit into the Senior Citizen thread. :D
When I started looking into buying a Maverick, I was initially surprised at how many older dudes owned these trucks. I guess I shouldn't be, though. The median age of...
Fun fact, the "4x4" designation (along with 4x2, 6x4, etc.) was popularized by military use during WWII and was originally only meant to indicate how many wheels a vehicle had and how many of them were driven (regardless of how). There's actually lots of examples of military "4x4" vehicles...
I'll believe it when I see it. I'm old enough to remember when Dodge committed to building a Dart SRT 4 to compete with what Ford was doing at the time with the Focus ST/RS and instead canned the whole Dart platform in 2016.
New PR haul in the Lobo yesterday:
28 cubic feet of garden soil
8x garden cornerstone blocks
8x treated 2x6
2x hanging planters
4x rebar
~about a dozen vegetable and fruit starters
... And a case of beer (in the cabin) 😄
I remember some of the big reviewers either downplaying or outright dismissing the claim that you can drift a Lobo. I wonder if they never turned off AdvanceTrac because it is my experience that you can 100% get these trucks sideways when you drive them hard enough.
I am one of those guys who needs every vehicle I own to be fun to drive. I have never owned a hybrid, but I have owned underpowered, fuel efficient, CVT cars before and I always slowly grow to hate them. For me, it would be Ecoboost 100%.
Sometimes preparedness is about making reasonable compromise. I also keep a trauma kit and LifeVac in my truck. Would I be more prepared if I carried them around on my hip? Absolutely. But it's unreasonable for my lifestyle to do so. In the same vein, I have 4 unruly children. The chances...
I am curious if any of these studies attempt to adjust for all the white fleet vehicles. Drivers of fleet vehicles are typically going to be licensed and vetted by their employer, under increased driving scrutiny, driving during waking hours (IOW, not 2AM), and much less likely to be under the...
