Finally got my hands on my XL Hybrid! Velocity blue and am happier with it every day I have it. The colour is awesome, the design and workmanship of every little bit of this truck is great (especially for the price). Installed the Truxedo soft top tonneau cover from Ford tonight. Hitch, bed cubbies, and some sort of new tire set up to come…

Seeing it next to your grandfather's is truck got me thinking about size. The F100 looks similar in height, at least at the roof line. Are the wheels and tires on that truck?

if you look closely at front of Maverick you can see front tires on F-100, and also appears to be 1 of those roller contraptions under the passenger front tire- which makes sense to have those on a non running project so it can be moved as needed over time.

My 77 F100 has been lowered 3 inches in the front and 4 inches in the back. The roof of mine is still probably about an inch or so higher than a stock Maverick. Hard to tell in this pic, but that's how it looked to me in person by just eye balling them next to each other head-on from the front. My truck has 29" tires (255/60r17), so maybe 1/4" taller than what would have been on it from the factory.
