I've been looking for weeks for a tonneau cover that is flush and not obvious sitting atop the truck bed like a typical cover. In a perfect world, I want a cover like the Rivian or Santa Cruz, where it's slightly inset to the bed. Do such options exist?

Yes, from Ford Accessories, the Hard Rollup cover sits flush with the side rails of the truck. It's also quite secure when closed, each of the rails are locked to the sides of the box rails.

You may need to look some more. There are numerous covers that are basically flat with the top of the bed. Granted the majority of the flush ones are the Hard Top cover vs the Soft Top which you've probably been looking at. You may have to up your budget a little for a hard top cover that is flush with the bed. Good Luck

Here’s some pics of mine from Trucks2Go made by SyneticUSA. It’s about as good as you’re going to get. Since this an add on and not a factory install, you can’t get what the Cruz or Cybertruck have but I really like mine and think it looks just fine. The side rails actually give some added strength to the bed which is a plus. Mine is manual opening vice electric like the Cybertruck but was just $1001 with installation. Electric retracs are simply too expensive but if you have the money, you can get one. Hope this helps.

Just one note of caution. On the hard fold up types the lower cost ones don't fold up the last panel against rear window giving you full bed access. Just the higher priced ones do.

Do you know if this cover can be installed with the hard drop in bed liner?

Thanks
I think so but might need some modifications to do it. I would check before buying. I have the SIBL vice the drop in liner and thus don’t know.

I bought the SyneticUSA from Truck2Go, product, shipping and installation for $1007.
