My 2024 Maverick XL check engine light came on. Took it to dealer and they said my catalytic converter is bad. Warranty covers it but now I’m worried this will be the first of many problems. Has anyone had this issue?

Don’t worry about it I bought a 2015 Chrysler 200 New drove it for 3 weeks then the dreaded check engine light came on 😮 I took it to the dealer and it was the catalytic converter went bad.
I was worried but the dealer said it happens sometimes parts go bad.
Haven’t had any issues since then the car has 100,000 miles on it.

I too have a 24 xl and my light came on the second day , I don't recall the code from my code reader but it was emission related. My ford app told me it was a rubber o-ring and to insert the emergency funnel several times and it should clear it , it continued to come after I cleared code every few weeks through the summer. I don't drive much (2400 miles since mid April). A few weeks ago I decided to add rust proofing to my Maverick and took off all under cladding to do a through job. That's when I discovered my evap canister had been damaged , my best guess by the delivery truck drive. I am not a fan of dealer service departments. So rather than argue my case and probably lose after 7 months of owning, I just ordered a Motorcraft part from Rockauto for 60% less than the dealer price.
Problem solved no issues since.
Sorry I'm so long winded.

I wouldn't worry about it take it to the dealer and hopefully they replace it for you no problem. Only way I'd worry about it is if you had a dealer that refused to replace it.

It's like anything you'll have problems no matter what you buy. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't

Likely just a sensor failure, rather than a problem with the converter itself, but the dealer will have to figure that out.
