Been getting a rattle or some sort of harmonic vibration sound coming from under the center console shifter area. Usually goes away after the truck warms up. Happens during acceleration. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue.

I would get somebody else on the right seat and touch every surface near the area and see if it stops. It sounds like a hard plastic component may be resonating with the engine rpm at certain frequency.

Sounds metallic, like muffler hitting under load.

I was thinking that or a heat shield of some sort. Just seems strange that it goes away after driving a while. Maybe something is tightening up as it heats and swells.

I noticed something similar today. I can’t pinpoint where it’s coming from. Seemed to go away as the car warmed up.

Let me know if you figure it out. So far I have not figured it out. I will let you know if I do.

I have a similar sound but it seems to only happen between 1500-2000 rpm and it seems to happen only on first gear. It is a rattle of some sort. Happens both when on the road and also simply when stationary and revving.

Yes I have the muffler rattle too, I mentioned it on another thread. I only hear it at idle. I got under the truck and looked for contact with exhaust system and heat shield and could not find anything. When I push up on the muffler it goes away.

Just got mine back from the dealer for rpm induced noise just before shift points in lower gears. They found the H. P. fuel pump is inducing a resonance in the fuel supply line under the truck and vibrating a shield. They tied the shield off so the rattle is gone but the pump's buzz/humm is still there under engine fuel demand. Notice sent to Ford for their input and guidance as dealer not certain what they can do next?

I pulled down on a metal shield over the cat. So far it’s not rattling but I will see tomorrow when it’s a cold start, as that is when it almost always happens. Be interesting to see if anything can be done about fuel pump buzz. I don’t know if I have it or not as the engine is just buzzy sounding in general.

I had a droning, loud noise coming from the passenger seat. It was loud. I dropped my wife off and it was instantly gone. 😝

Enough threads like this are popping up now, that I'm starting to wonder how smart it was to order a loaded Lariat!
