Are there any friction modifiers or additives that needs to be added to the SAE 75w-85 when a fluid change is performed on the PTU?

I'm doing the RDU also, I'm using motorcraft SAE 75w disconnect rear drive unit fluid. The rdu yes depending on the fluid used.
I change all (Engine/Filter,Trans,PTU,RA) fluid once a year in my 2020 Fusion AWD. (My PTU calls for Motorcraft 75w140 Full Synthetic.) I drive the Fusion 5000 miles per year -$200. Matl and I do it at home.I'm doing the RDU also, I'm using motorcraft SAE 75w disconnect rear drive unit fluid.
I have a floor jack and jack stands(always leave jack in place and double up on the jack stands). I raise the front with tire about 2" off my garage floor. Do the same at the rear.Got the fluids all changed. I don't know how you guys fill these things while on the ground. Not much room. We ended up using a power steering fluid transfer pump on mine while on a lift.

I made cut outs in the front belly shield for the Oil Filter, Engine oil drain plug, Trans Drain Plug, PTU drain plug and fill plugs. I have a fill pump for the Rear Axle and PTU that attaches directly to the Motorcraft container.
If this 89 yo car owner can do it so can you. 2 hours and $200. at home. Dealer cost in then order of $800.
I would prefer to use a lift. But I don't had a lift at home. The lift I could use is 30 minutes away.Oh I could do it on the floor if I had to, but why if you have access to a lift.![]()
You should be proud of that Richard. This 68-year-old with a lift grumbles at the thought of doing this job.I have a floor jack and jack stands(always leave jack in place and double up on the jack stands). I raise the front with tire about 2" off my garage floor. Do the same at the rear.

I'm too lazy to read my manual LOL. How often does Ford recommend changing this fluid? Are there any friction modifiers or additives that needs to be added to the SAE 75w-85 when a fluid change is performed on the PTU?
I don't know, others have said theirs was low from the factory so I just changed them. I'm ocd about maintenance though.I'm too lazy to read my manual LOL. How often does Ford recommend changing this fluid?
