Not much else to say, then what others have already shared - thank you all for the inspiration.. this install features:
  • Yaesu FTM-300DR dual band radio
  • RAM Mount "B" size ball
  • HuddExpo Yaesu ball mount
  • AkroHD (Etsy store) mounting cubby
  • Custom SendCutSend anodized aluminum (.080") bracket
  • L-Com RJ45/12 pass through adapters
  • APRS World APO3 automatic power relay
  • TechFlex Insultherm fiberglass, to sleeve cover 10AWG wire
Power is sourced directly from the battery, through the rubber grommet hole, fed to an Eaton 30A breaker, and finally an Anderson-style PowerPole distribution block. The radio head is located behind the rear seats, near the subwoofer speaker. The power distribution is controlled by an automatic relay to only energize when the battery is at defined voltage or greater. Some additional equipment, such as an air purifier and Dewalt battery charger source from the same PowerPole block. The microphone (RJ12), control head (RJ45), and speaker (1/8") are fed along the passenger side. DC power is fed along the drivers side.

Nice work! Have a similar setup with the RJ45 connector in the cubby for my GMRS radio.
