Mirror caps and door handles removal and install tips?

Pulled the mirror caps, any tips? Also door handle removal and install tips? I heard the install can be tricky bs the simple removal.

If it’s the video I’m thinking of, he explains how to remove the handles then proceeds to talk about how hard they are to put back on. With the mirrors, he just removes the entire mirror and tapes them off instead of removing the caps

Hadles are a pita, I also removed both mirrors and simply tapped the caps off. The size of the cap is what persuaded me to tape off the mirrors vs removing the cap.

See, I was opposite… the handles were easy! I can swap all 4 handles in about 10 minutes, but the mirror caps, I feel like I’m going to break all the tabs . Is that your tailgate handle that you painted? I want to find a painted one, or have one painted and need to find the part number.

Yes, I did the mirror caps, door handles, tailgate handle and I also ordered the bottom tailgate cover for the opening where the camera harness is and ptm'd it as well.

The tailgate handle and tailgate cover were the easiest for me. There was no way in my opinion of removing, painting, and then reinstalling the mirror cap without a good chance of chipping or scratching the paint. So I removed the entire mirror and just tapped it off completely for peace of mind.

Also @ Mxer97, I plan to ptm the XLT fender badges as you did. That looks very clean.

Thanks! I saw that the ford ranger tailgate handle is the same as maverick, so I have been looking for an oxford white one already painted for an easy swap!

Surprised you didn't paint it yourself. It was pretty straightforward to remove/paint/reinstall, hell if you lived close Id do it for yah.

Worse part was removing the 8 small bolts that hold on tailgate panel cover.
