Added Eye bolts to ford cargo management

I needed an another options over the two cleats Ford provided. I decided to add a couple eyebolts using some basic hardware from Depot.

I added them to the bar by sliding them in however you can also fit the washer in on an angle before tightening it.

What do you think? I’m considering add a hook or two for bags.

Works for you …then ok. I rather a larger flat plate with hole in lieu of washer at the inside track. More surface area = stronger. And to really dress it up - stainless steel materials.

I like that idea a lot. I’m going to look out for a plate or something similar.

Having eye bolts intruding into the cargo area seems like you are asking for them to damage or puncture something.

Why didn't you get the ones that slide in and fold down? Like this:

I would consider a centering washer in the middle of the sandwich. Even if it is just a nylon washer that you cut down. It will keep the eye bolt centered, which will reduce wobble, which will reduce loosening. Also a lock washer on either side would be beneficial. Probably one of the multi-toothed flatter types for thread space reasons.

I added retractable ratchet straps to mine but I removed the rails and bolted them all the way through after deciding the sandwich style might be a touch lighter duty.

I added these inside the the track. Available in electrical section at major hardware stores, usually around the conduit area. Available in 1/4,5/16 or 3/8.

Usually in pack of 5. I shortened the spring a few coils as the rail is less deep then the “Kindorf” track these are made for. There are also brackets for attaching pipe.
