Out of curiosity, how many So Cal Maverick owners bought the extended warranty? Curious of the cost (ball park figure) if you did. Wondering if I should get it and how much negotiating I would have to do to get them down to a "reasonable" price.

My dealership offered me a 4 year extended warranty on top of the factory warranty for $2500. My credit union is offering me theirs (through a 3rd party) for $1500.

I did not. The hybrid battery has a 10 year 150k warranty in the state of CA. I didn't really feel a need for anything otherwise.

That is true but I'm more worried about the other things that could go wrong like sensors, electrical (power windows, power seat, moonroof, gauge cluster, etc.), emissions parts and so on. I'm contemplating getting the warranty through my Credit Union. My main reason is for peace of mind due to the fact that the Maverick was built using the lowest quality parts Ford could find to keep the price low.

I had a Renegade that never got out of it's manufacturer warranty and was a nightmare until the crank sensor completely failed (I did get an extended warranty. It's a dice roll, but if you get it cheap enough then it's a good investment.

I agree, it's pretty much a crap shoot. I've been blessed with never needing major work on my vehicles after the warranty had expired, but the Maverick gives me doubts (new model with low-quality parts). Also, my OCD makes me go above and beyond on how I take care of my vehicle's, so I'm not too worried about it from that sense. Just for the hell of it, I'm going to flip a coin (heads I get it, tails I don't) and base my decision on that.

I bought the Tremor with an offroad package fully loaded. There are alot of electronics in this truck & since I got it for msrp, I wanted to make sure everything was covered beyond the 3/36K mile factory warranty. now it's covered for 8 years 100K miles.
