Made it from Chicago to Leslie, Arkansas.

Topper did great, was Olof the whole way at both highway speeds and on twisty back roads.

Got my tent set up and ready for a good nights sleep.

I'm very interested in this. It's not exactly aerodynamic. However, the ease of storage is very attractive. Did you feel like it was a drag on the overall economy? Did it contribute to wind noise? Does it have an option for a window opening at the front? (if the pups ride in the backity back on hot summer days I'd like to route some AC back there).

I don’t think there was any impact to mpg…hard to tell though as the bed was loaded down with gear.

Less wind noise than the tonneau cover. I have the factory cover that came with the First Edition and if you open the back window you can hear it flapping around a little. This topper was solid…on the highway I had the cruise control dialed in at 85 most of the way and was constantly looking in the rear view mirror and the thing didn’t move at all.

The front has a window that attaches with Velcro, so you could simply remove that to give them ventilation. I’m going to reach out to them to see if they make a mesh window for the front too as I was thinking the same thing.

I want to put equipment in the back that requires the extra tall version. But I do NOT really want people to be able to see in (and see my expensive equipment, lets face it, they can cut this topper off). I suppose I could put something opaque on the inside.

Ever see a no window tall version?

Awesome.... I have an inexpensive soft tri-fold and it flaps just a tiny bit. I normally drive about 70 to 75.... 80 would be a short burst to pass a semi.

Well if that front panel is removeable.. I could probably put it on a sewing machine and cut and sew in a frame that has mesh and have an optional clear vinyl panel that zips it closed.... I spend 1/2 my time in Mexico and it's amazing what Tapiceros (folks who do apholstry work) are able to accomplish!
