Folks,
My 2nd Maverick - ordered from same dealer as I got my GF's was ordered
Sep 2022 on 'order bank' opening day'. It was delayed well into 2022 and then
the order was regenerated for the next model year - in theory at the price
I ordered at 9/22. [Mav XL + CoPilot + splashguards + tailgate lock.]

I'll be receiving my truck shortly (on rail right now). Dealer says I pay the next
year's (well, current year) price and will get a refund check for the difference":

"....Ford handles the price protection is after the purchase is made at the MSRP
price of what it is right now, Ford will then send us the check for us to then send
to you for the difference in price from your original time that you ordered your
Ford Maverick! .... The reason Ford does this is they want to make sure the person
that ordered the vehicle is the one buying the vehicle. This way not just anybody gets
the price protection reimbursement."

If I do believe that, that still leaves the open problem of paying 9.13% sales tax as
well as increased reg fee on the price difference.

Will Ford compensate, how can this be worked out? I'd be happy for dealer to have
the check and sell me the truck at orig Sep 2022 MSRP.

Guidance welcome.

I just picked up my Sept 2022 order last Friday. I have the print out when we did the rollover to 2024. It was $415 cheaper. The base MSRP for XL FWD was $23,400 when we did the rollover last year and the latest window sticker MSRP for the base is now $23815 I believe. Anyways, they didnt fool around with dealer add on etc. I got my $2500 private offer rebate but I was not happy with the $415 price jump. Sales manager gave me the same explanation that "Ford will audit all the sales..bla bla bla...and if you have price protection..bla bla bla..they'll send us a check for your $415" So sounds very similar to what your dealer is telling you @bwiese

Anyway, I've waited a year and half for this truck. I didnt have the time and the energy to argue and I wasnt going to leave the truck there. So I bit the $415 and expecting not to see that refund.

What is "Private Offer Rebate"? How do I get it? I believe our orders are equally situated.

I'd rather fight/get $2500 vs $400.

You can view the notice above, Ford is offering "private offers" for people who ordered a MY23 Maverick that went unbuilt and rolled over to a MY24 Maverick. The amount of the offer is based on your original MY23 order and changes depending on trim and engine type (since those both changed pricing).

If your dealer rolled over your order properly Ford has a certificate in your name that they will use to compensate the dealer. Most dealers apply the private offer to your purchase price when you pick up the truck but sometimes they don't go that route and instead have a check cut and sent to you after purchase. Seems like your dealer prefers the later.

Depending on your state, most rebates come off the vehicle price after taxes, even if it's applied at time of pickup. It's treated the same as a down payment so you would pay taxes on the full price of the truck regardless. No one will reimburse you for the difference in taxes as this private offer is seen as a courtesy and Ford is under no obligation to honor the original order price in the first place.

Private offer is in COVP/SmartVincent.
Mid-year price increase rebate is in DORA.

Note: the private offer only applies IF your rollover was done correctly.

Thank you.
I just called Ford Marketing and they indeed have $2500 Private Offer
assigned to my order#/VIN.

I gave dealer the offer code# and certificate # and they indeed found it
so we are good.

Thanks again...

As an aside, FoMoCo really screwed up the way in which they did the retail order transition offer. I understand franchise rules and FoMoCo has no relationship with the retail custom, that relationship is customer-->dealer-->FoMoCo.

But they could have included in the multiple emails to customers, the statement that according the the model/engine, the given customer is entitled to $XXXX. Or no $$, which would give the customer a heads up that the dealer did not properly transition the original order using the same order number and COVP [customer order verification proces].

Talk about incompetence, FoMoCo caused so much needless angst on this subject. So many needless bits and bytes expended that can never be recovered. Even my DMV does better. :(
