Folks,
My 2nd Maverick - ordered from same dealer as I got my GF's was ordered
Sep 2022 on 'order bank' opening day'. It was delayed well into 2022 and then
the order was regenerated for the next model year - in theory at the price
I ordered at 9/22. [Mav XL + CoPilot + splashguards + tailgate lock.]
I'll be receiving my truck shortly (on rail right now). Dealer says I pay the next
year's (well, current year) price and will get a refund check for the difference":
"....Ford handles the price protection is after the purchase is made at the MSRP
price of what it is right now, Ford will then send us the check for us to then send
to you for the difference in price from your original time that you ordered your
Ford Maverick! .... The reason Ford does this is they want to make sure the person
that ordered the vehicle is the one buying the vehicle. This way not just anybody gets
the price protection reimbursement."
If I do believe that, that still leaves the open problem of paying 9.13% sales tax as
well as increased reg fee on the price difference.
Will Ford compensate, how can this be worked out? I'd be happy for dealer to have
the check and sell me the truck at orig Sep 2022 MSRP.
Guidance welcome.
