I finally registered after enjoying the MTC since I ordered my Maverick on Dec 21, 21. I received it on Nov 21, 22. This site made the wait bearable especially the meme thread of all the folks waiting for their trucks. I don't remember how I found the MTC but am glad I did!
I feel like I know some of you since I have been reading threads here for a while.
While waiting I ordered letters for the tailgate. After I ordered them I didn't order anything else due to no emails form Ford regarding the build and I seriously thought that it might not get built!
First I added a 2.5" Super Lift and after getting all of the nuts and bolts properly tightened and an alignment, it has been perfect. Then I added a faux leather steering wheel cover and when the tires wear out I will upgrade to a larger tire. I planned to go to a 265/65/17 but I put 1" wheel spacers on the front and 1-1/4" wheel spacers on the back. The reason for the different size spacers on front and back which you all know is the back is about 1" narrower than the front. I really like the stance now but with the spacers and how they throw the front wheel further out when turning, I may have to go with a 255/65/17 or a 245/65/17 which might be ok because of the wider stance looks great....or remove the wheel spacers for a wider tire.
I also finally snagged the Mabett fender flares. In my opinion, they are the best looking fender flare available. And the price point is key! The before and after look is dramatic and really sets off the truck. Not to rugged but nice looking.
I installed a tail gate damper and a few organizers on the inside.
This is a work truck and I am on the road and in town equally and I have been getting 26-30 mpg's consistently.
I am a cyclist and my bike fits in the bed with 1/2" to spare! And my work ladder fits in the bed perfectly when I line it up with the groves at the front and back. It's like the truck was made just for my needs!
By the way, Tom is a vehicle, it is a thing but if I gave it a gender it would definitely be a male.
I just gave its pre summer coat of Nu Finish, which I ordered after reading a post here and it is fantastic! So easy to apply and such a great shiny finish! My wife even said how she just about slipped off of the side when she leaned against it!
Here are a few pictures.
