Curious when these go on sale and if they'll fit the Maverick. Not listed on real truck yet.

Ugh. That's disappointing given how much they charge for these covers. It's also amazing (sarcasm) how none of the reviews of the product make mention of these foibles. Maybe I should just get the $900 syneticusa retractable cover with the built in t-slots. It may not be perfect either but for the price....6 months ago I tried the X4S with Truxedo's T-slot rails and the fitment was just too tight, despite Bak's claim they would play together. It seems I was not alone in my experience. This also taught me how fragile the Revolver is. The plastic corners break easily, exposing enough of the latch mechanism to post a security vulnerability. I also found the Revolver's thin extruded rails to be at risk of damage if you ever load things over the side, and they inhibit reaching into the bed. The actuation lever for the locking mechanism sticks out from each side by the tailgate, which would have been a problem for me when loading furniture. I might consider a hard folding tonneau if they made one with integrated T-slot rails like this. I'm trying to avoid building my own from aluminum tread plate, but it seems my priorities do not align well with commercial products.

We all have to make our peace with the world and accept its shortcomings. Aftermarket products suffer from the competing constraints of cost, function, quality, aesthetics, etc. I think the X4s is as good a product as any of them. I suffer from being able to build my own stuff so that makes me spoiled and inflexible. Given the time I've spent on some projects, I probably should have settled for a commercial product with a few warts...Ugh. That's disappointing given how much they charge for these covers. The X4ts is not expected to release until the end of March which is why we do not have it on our site yet!Looks like this is starting to show up on other sites. Not seeing it on @Realtruck yet though.
Interesting, these other sites are definitely setting unrealistic shipping expectations, in that case. They even show it as shipping in Feb.The X4ts is not expected to release until the end of March which is why we do not have it on our site yet!
you need to use the thinner gasket between the cover bracket and the rails6 months ago I tried the X4S with Truxedo's T-slot rails and the fitment was just too tight, despite Bak's claim they would play together. Thanks for the suggestion, but I've found that the extruded rails used by most of the low-profile tonneau covers are so thin & flimsy that they're at risk of damage when loading gear over the sides of the bed, and they stick out far enough from each side to be in the way when reaching over the side, too. I first tried the Bak Revolver X4S and had to return it for several reasons, one of which was that it simply was too wide to fit, even with zero weatherstrip tape on the rails. Being able to fab my own stuff has me spoiled.check this out
At the time I tried that (April '23), the X4s was an "interference" fit even with NO tape at all on either the Elevate or Revolver rails. I suspect BAK has reduced the width of the revolver by now, so that particular problem has likely been fixed. Having seen the X4s and the compromises made for the sake of locking function and appearance, I've concluded that it's not the right approach for me.you need to use the thinner gasket between the cover bracket and the rails
Do we have a release date yet for real truck to carry x4tsThe X4ts is not expected to release until the end of March which is why we do not have it on our site yet!
