Is the wiring harness issue still going on? My truck is dead.

Well, my truck (hybrid) died this morning when I tried going to work. It's had zero problems until now. It was built in August and since then I've put 6k miles on it.

About a week ago I got the message in FordPass that the truck went into deep sleep mode and it started the next morning after that. I got it again last night and this time it wouldn't start. I just drove 95 miles home yesterday so it's certainly not from sitting.

I've seen a lot of people having this issue and dealerships not really being helpful. I understand the wiring harness issue was supposedly resolved after a certain build date - but could that still be what's going on? Or is the battery defective? This is my only mode of transportation and the dealership is closed until Monday, so I guess I'm missing 3 days from my paycheck this week. Thanks Ford.

It should jump just fine and run to get to work. Haven't had to use it, but keep a small jump start pack under the seat, even in my previous vehicles. - Just remember to charge it at least once every month or two.

My suspicion is the goofy BMS setup, that keeps the battery no higher than 80% charge weakens an already low reserve capacity battery of questionable quality. At full 100% charge the factory battery is only rated for 45 minutes reserve, and it's only charged to 80% max.

Once jump started, turn off auto updates & WiFi, and if you have a Lariat, keep the key out of communication range. That will help prevent running down the 12 volt.

This ☝

I also had a jump box in my last vehicle and now keep it under the back seat of the Maverick. A small investment that can save a lot of time, inconvenience and, in OP's case, money, since they are having to miss work. It's also good for jumping someone else's vehicle, without risking damage to your truck's electronics.

A battery charger/maintainer is also worth a little expense. I've had one on my riding mower and it really has helped those batteries last longer. I also put it on my Maverick a few times after I first bought the truck. The truck took over a month between being time built and delivery. I figured the battery was low on charge after sitting for that long. The charger display also show it was low.

Sounds like a POS lemon. It could be the faulty battery run down protection feature or a bad battery from the factory in general.

I've seen lots of posts on here and on reddit from both hybrid and ecoboost owners. So it seems to be an issue across the board.

Just got mine back yesterday. The dealer said they found an open circuit due to a connection not being completely made from the factory. Hoping our new trucks start is not a satisfactory position to be in as an owner. Neither is needing cables or jump boxes every few days. 2800 miles in and 5 jumps required. Fix it Ford!!!

Update: Took it to the dealer last Wednesday. They did software updates and put in a new battery as old one was bad. Yesterday, not even 5 days later, it was dead again. I am so pissed.
