I have only had my maverick for about two months. So far it’s been the hot summer months and when I use my FordPass app to start the truck, I noticed that it automatically cools the interior, and it seems like it was venting the hot air out actually. Today was the first chilly day in a while and when I used FordPass to start the truck, I suppose it reads the outdoor temp first. The seat heat was on, as well as the steering wheel, and a comfortable temperature in the cabin. I think this is an awesome feature. Makes me want to always start my car with FordPass. It’s like having a personal assistant.

Ya know...that explains why my truck is always trying to put the air on, I guess. Most of the time, I do not have my AC on but when it is warm and I start it up, sure enough there goes the AC. I have only used the remote start once or maybe twice but I kind of assumed it would not cool unless I had the AC on to begin with. Looks like this afternoon will be an experiment.

This is on by default. It will try to get the cabin to 72 degrees, wether that requires heating or cooling. It can be disabled via the dash menu.

There are two settings (somewhere in the gauge cluster menus) for the climate when you remote start: auto and last setting. With auto, the computer determines how to make the cabin comfortable. With last setting, it just runs whatever you had when you shut the truck off.

I personally use remote start for every cold-start, even if it's only for a couple of minutes, just to give the engine a chance to warm up. It's wonderful!

Thanks. I like to think I am pretty tech savvy but after about the third sub-menu on a dashboard, I start to doubt myself. I keep my truck in the garage so it is almost never necessary to remote start, but some days at work it is hot enough that a bit of pre-cooling would be welcome.
