Upon delivery late June 2023 I too paid additional $480 base price AND $100 dealer doc fee increases from list price on original signed order form (Sept. 2022). I also distinctly remember the sales agent verbally assuring me that no matter what, the order form price IS the final price at delivery (no order changes were made). Before I go back to dealer to request refund, I wasn't sure if DD fee increase applies, not clear from posted price protection doc.
P.s. I also fell for the b.s. that I "have to" decide on extended warranties and service plans before I drive off the lot, otherwise options are few and more expensive. Only to easily learn through basic online research that comparable plans straight from Ford protect or granger Ford are half the price. $75 cancellation fee wasted because of my ignorance and gullibility.
Again, are DD fees also price protected?
Love the xl hybrid, disgusted by car sales
Steve,
I believe the $100 increase for DD (from the original $1495.) should be refunded or price protected.
You should pay what was agreed to on your DORA way back when you ordered your Maverick. It states it pretty clear on the Price Protection Notice (above, Post #2).
I love my XL too! Best of luck to you.

Joe,
Yes, I paid $1595 (exactly as stated on my window sticker).
But we are supposed to be price protected on that and the base price as of the date of our original order (on the DORA). The price increase (Back in January, I think) is not supposed to affect our final sales price. My dealer said that when they get a check from Ford, they will reimburse me.

NEVER accept verbal from anyone on something involving money, especially a car dealer.

The price protection is price protection of the invoice price for the dealer. It is up to the dealer to offer to the customer.

BYW, all details about price protection etc. should be in Smart Vincent?
Only incentive protection info in SmartVincent, not price protection. There is no easy way for a dealer to know what Ford will pay for price protection.

I'm guessing that if your dealer is waiting to see the invoice from Ford, that they are not intending on honoring price protection. I hope they will though!
