I received a letter from Ford today. At first, I thought it was some sort of recall letter and had a big frown on my face.
After reading the letter, it turns out that a label needs to go under the hood to meet "Environmental Certification Requirements". I have attached a picture of the label. There are four pages of installation instructions; two in English and two in Spanish. One page in each language tells me how to open the hood and secure it in an upright position. Ford dealers are also authorized to install the label. So, I could set up an appointment, drive 25 miles to the nearest dealer and wait while the label is installed. Hard to say what the dealer charges for this challenging fix??? I believe I can handle this job on my own although I have little mechanical skill!!!
I will do this FIRST thing in the AM as I do want to be environmentally certified. Without the label there may be a penalty similar to the penalty of removing the tag on a new mattress
!! Hey, who says Ford isn't on top of the situation! This appears to only apply to an Ecoboost engine.
