GTBuzz. I admit, the wording by Ford is horrible. which is always the case with Ford memos. It is based on your '22 order and it is based on what your '23 order. (Do you see the word "and"?) Ford had absolutely no intention of giving you an incentive to spend less and get the same rebate. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!

Finally, bottom line. What amount did you end up getting? After all the time the dealer spent on this, it obvious they finally contacted Ford and received the correct instructions.
It did happen for me…. It’s in my garage. I got 2750 private offer off of my xl ecoboost.

90% of Ford dealers are pathetic. It's extremely sad.

Although I am still hopefully waiting for my 2023 Hybrid, reservation placed with dealer August, then with Ford.ca mid Oct, I do know a hockey buddy who lives 2 blocks from me originally placed a Hybrid order Oct/21, then had to roll over as he never got scheduled. At the urging of his dealer (different than mine) he reordered as an eco and got the Hybrid private offer when he picked his 2023 XLT eco mid Feb., so GTBuzz is correct, he should get the 2750.

You know the 23 Ecos & hybrids cost the same, right? And Ford wanted people to switch to Ecos because they didn't have capacity to fulfill all the hybrid orders? (edited to correct the new model year pricing)

Please Help. Transition Private Offer Problem. Has anyone been successful in having their address updated in the COVP? Is there any way to instruct the dealership how to go about it? After waiting 485 days for my Maverick XLT Hybrid and asking the dealer to update my address in the COVP, finance mgr. said "they Can't". This past week I spoke with Ford Mktg. Dept. 4 times (last one was supposed to be a supervisor and I got so fed up that I hung up on him). I have a certificate number, but they won't honor it because I moved from FL to GA. Marketing says yes, the cert. is valid but the addresses don't match, and the dealer needs to contact dealer support (some sort of 3rd party). I sent a certified letter to the sales mgr. at the dealership along with 6 pages of documentation. He initialed that he rec'd. it but that was all. No contact from anyone about my letter. The lack of cooperation from Ford & the dealers is beyond comprehension.

When I picked up my truck a few weeks ago the address on my private offer was an old address that we haven’t lived at for about 6 years. I had to produce some old mail with that old address on it. Fortunately I had an old filing cabinet full of past electric bills and such. Once they had that there was no problem.

Thought this was a Maverick site, but is it turning into personal accusation site. Yes, there are bad salesmen just like there are bad people in all professions, but don’t label everyone bad because of some.

Ford Marketing gave me the certificate number after I provided the old address and old VIN. Never rec'd. anything on paper. Still, the dealer refused to try to update my address because they just can't. Marketing has said dealers should contact the third party, but I have no idea who that is. How did you get them to update your information? I remember reading about your problem before. Congratulations that yours got resolved.

I’m not sure who the dealer had to produce proof of my old address to. I just assumed it was their contact with Ford. My private offer had my name on it but the address was different. My dealer said I would need to prove to Ford that the offer was mine. They needed a utility bill in my name at the old address. I gave them a couple of old receipts and got my 2750 offer. Good luck!

The dealer needs to work with their Ford “sales and inventory specialist.” (Basically, their assigned Ford rep.)

What needs to be done is filing for an Exception To Policy (“exception”). Which is basically authorizing the transition private offer by verifying you are the same customer, even though your customer information between the two orders in the system doesn’t match.

In your case, the addresses are different. In our case, our last name got put in differently on the second order.

Good luck! Took our dealer a while to grasp the process, but once he did, it only took a day or so do get the private offer to show up on our order.

Thank you so much. This is a much clearer explanation. Some in Ford Marketing referred to a third party but didn't explain who it was. This gives me new hope.

It can be frustrating, for sure — even a well-meaning sales manager (like ours) may not understand the process or what they are supposed to do. Be polite but persistent with the sales manager — tell him that it’s your understanding that he’s got to work with his Ford rep (“sales and inventory specialist”) to get that exception on your order.

Or as we told our sales manager — “We agree that we’re entitled to the private offer, right? And we understand what the problem is, right? So all you need to do is work with your Ford rep to figure out the process that can make it happen.”

I would think the fact that you DO have a certificate number should help, even though it isn’t showing up on your current order because of the address change.

To get the offer, the system requires that Customer Name, Address, Order Number, and COVP verification number match.

The fact that you have a certificate number means your MY22 was put through the required COVP process. (Customer Order Verification — it’s meant to prove that you are a real customer and a real order.). A lot of people have struggled getting their offer because their dealer didn’t put their order through COVP.
