Found my rattle in rear suspension. It actually was not in suspension but in something I’d added to truck. found it by luck. I’d noticed that the rattle only occurred when both rear wheels hit a bump, such as a speed bump strip. If I went around end and only caught speed bump with one tire no rattle. So I started shaking things and found it after only 5 minutes. You’ll never guess what it was!! I’d added a metal hitch cover as soon as I bought the Maverick and that’s what it was. Took cover off drove truck over ever speed bump I could find at varying speeds no rattle. Now if I can find the intermittent rattle under dash

That's why I like the rubber plugs - not to mention they keep more crud out than the metal ones.

Let us know when you find the rattle under the dash (y)

Your rattle is likely not the dash. It's the windshield. Mine just got approved to be resealed on Monday.

Let us know how that turns out. My wife's XLT Hybrid has the same thing, like so many have reported here.

I’m thinking it’s a wiring connector that has just enough slack in it to sometimes come in contact with housing of the dash. Sound like it’s behind the instrument cluster on the right side of the cluster.

That's what it sounds like, but it's likely not. It's very well loomed in there. The issue is the alignment pegs which are on the upper corners of the windshield.

Props to other folks who posted that this fixed it for them.

So, they yank out the alignment plugs to fix?

Sound like some fun with beers to me.

It definitely is on the right side. I was riding in the passenger seat yesterday and could hear it. (Only reason I was in front passenger seat is that dog was not with my wife, or else I would have had my butt in back seat) - seriously. LOL.

Resealing the windshield fixed the issue. The service advisor I worked with is out on vacation so I'm not sure if they got rid of the pucks and then resealed, but either way it's fixed.

I’m getting close to my first oil change since I bought it used. Unfortunately it was 1 day past the 12 month when I bought it so I don’t know if ford will fix it free of charge under warranty.

It's covered under 3 years/36,000 miles.

Yes, but certain things are only 12/12 and I think rattles fall in that category. I know I read somewhere that windshield stress cracks fall under that 12/12.

I just did a google search rattles aren’t covered after 12 months, so I guess I’m stuck either take dash apart and fix myself or live with it. At 70 years old I probably won’t crawl around under that dash searching for it. On a happier note drove down to see our son 244 miles/39mpg.

It's not the dash. It's the alignment pucks on the upper corners of the windshield touching the body and making the squeaking. The wires in the dash are loomed very well.
