Yep. They split the 360 lux features on the 2023, so I opted out of the “ add on” remote start option and just remote start from the Ford Pass appEvidently yours didn't have the Lux Package ? Dang didnt even know they used these on the Lariat - Is yours a 22 or 23 ? ahhhh got it. the procedures are the same for adding that fob, I havent 100% tested it with Forscan however with the frequency being different Id say the 23 models dont have the chips for the 2 way communication needed for the fob based remote start. ahh that was Fords Im pretty sure option trying to reduce chip usage. My Lariat suffers sometimes from the "deep sleep" issue but the fob remote start has always worked.I think it was $200
Thanks!There has been many questions on the keys for our beloved trucks and as a locksmith I can say if you loose all your keys you will more than likely have to tow it back to the dealer until our software is updated. HOWEVER I have confirmed on bord programming works if you have the original two keys ( two programmed keys ) - you can program them yourself - that has been mentioned here before. Do this NOW !!! before you loose one of the two keys LOL.
On the XL or XLT trucks you can either add a flip remote or just a standard key ( possibly you might want to add two cheaper keys as a backup ) On the Lariat only the fob will work however the emergency key is not required. I thought I would put links to which keys to purchase and you can take them to a local locksmith just to have cut - as long as you maintain two extra you are in good shape adding in the future.

To program you insert the existing first key, turn on ignition, count to three, take out put in existing second key turn on ignition - count to three - take new third key - turn on ignition - leave on - you should hear a chirp and a message key was successful.

To program - open center console. Pull up felt cover - place first existing fob in depression - push start button ( without foot on brake ) ignition comes on- count to 5 - remove fob - push ignition off - put second existing fob in depression - push ignition on - count to five - remove fob - push ignition off. take new fob - put in depression push AND HOLD start button down - you should hear chirp and message - key programming successful.
All in all pretty simple procedures and a few dollars and effort now can save you hundreds later !

My truck is currently as far away from me as possible on the far end of the hotel parking lot while I’m on the 3rd floor opposite side of the hotel and it works great
Id say you have to be within visual distance. When my truck goes into deep sleep it disables the ford pass remote. Factory remote start is 300 ft. Range is likely much shorter than that if you use the Perimeter Plus security system since that's using the standard fob which is much shorter range.Not sure how close you have to be for the fob to remote start the truck, but the ford pass remote start works from about anywhere with cell service.
