Will 235 65 R18 work for the maverick?

This is for a set of aftermarket winter tires + wheels coming off a Ford Edge.
The rim is slightly bigger at 18x8 j instead of the 18x7J I have on my XLT. I do not particularly like the wheels and those used tires may have lost much of the traction after 3-4 years but at the end is for a few months.

Yes, I'm running the same size on my Maverick with no issues at all but that might depend on the specs of the wheels since it doesn't say wheel width, only an offset of 40mm.

the wheels are 18x8 j. A bit larger 1" from inner to outer rim.

So you're almost 16mm closer to the strut with those wheels. I can't say for sure what kind of clearance there is but I am going to guess you'd be okay since it's nothing drastic.

I expect 8mm wider on each side so I would also it should work..

I think people make that assumption but it'll be 16mm closer on the inside.
