It is industry wide. However, the problem is that the “leaders” of the industry are part of a good old boy club, more interested in their exorbitant salaries and staying there, than in producing vehicles. Chip shortage was seen years ago, and should have bee planned for. Part shortages were relatively rare until the current crop of execs came in. Notice how they go haywire at the mention that they might have fouled up. Yes, there is a supply problem, created by the current crop of execs.
Thanks for the discussion. Complex problems rarely have simple solutions. Watch the curves and have a wonderful day.

Generally problems are not that complex,,,,, just follow the Money Trail.... Lots of smoking mirrors to cover up their money profit schemes in the last 3 years. Record profits for them with record low production would certainly raise the "Why, How, What, etc" flags...

We have lots of sheeps that just buy into their narrative...

One per order. It hasn't been 90 days to get second updates yet. I think it's funny that people think their trucks ordered a couple months ago should be built already, when there was a huge backlog of 22's that weren't built yet in a year or more of waiting.
They should have been built, but poor planning delays things

I think it's because I followed Tim's recommendation. I wouldn't put the order in unless it was priority 10.

What's everyone else's priority number?
My priority 10 has done me zero good since Sept. 2021. It is at priority 10 again, no new production date yet.

I understand supply issues. What I don’t understand is the lack of communication from Ford to both dealers and customers. If Ford can’t build my first day ordered, all paperwork completed, priority 10, hybrid Lariat I would hope they give me the option of switching to a 2.0. Doesn’t sound like Ford has ever done that. If I hear nothing and my Maverick doesn’t get built there is no way I’m going through this crap again next year. I’m done with Ford.

But Ford keeps taking in the orders whether they have parts or dealer allocation to fill them. This IS Ford's dilemma they are making for themselves. We need to Stop blaming the customer for whining. Ford is in control or lack of it.
I am in no way defending Ford's order/delivery issues with the Maverick... But to be fair, the statement "Ford keeps taking in the orders whether they have parts of dealer allocation to fill them" is patently untrue.

First of all, Ford only took orders for the 2023 Maverick for about 4-5 days (Sept 15th/16th through the 20th) and then shut it down rather abruptly once they realized they had gotten way more orders than they intended.

Secondly, dealer allocations are assigned based on production, not the other way around as your statement implies.

Third, I don't believe Ford (or even Ford dealerships) are "blaming the customer for whining." Some folks here on MTC have suggested that "we" need to stop whining about the situation. (We includes me, since I'm waiting for 2 Mav orders to be fulfilled.) That's not Ford talking...

I'm probably slightly less frustrated than the folks who've been waiting since 2021 for their Maverick, but I'm frustrated enough that I paid over MSRP for one that came available at a dealership. The whole situation sucks, but the Maverick definitely doesn't! I love mine, and it's everything I had hoped it would be...

Now if I could just get my wife to stop calling it "her Maverick!"

Exactly! My complaint is not that Ford hasn't built the 70,000 Mavericks that were ordered in September of 2022, but that they aren't being very forthcoming about WHAT they will actually deliver, and HOW they plan to allocate those deliveries. As a consumer, it's entirely "opaque" to me.

If Ford can’t build my first day ordered, all paperwork completed, priority 10, hybrid Lariat I would hope they give me the option of switching to a 2.0. Doesn’t sound like Ford has ever done that. Also a very valid point. If Ford cannot build all the Hybrids that were ordered, then tell us what they CAN build, and give us the option of changing our existing orders accordingly!

It's all about COMMUNICATION... Ford seems to really suck at that.

Pretty accurate post. I do, however, blame Ford for apparently having no idea of how many orders they would get in September. Considering the overwhelming orders received for the ‘22 model, and the utter lack of parts, they should have known. Perhaps some jobs should roll in Dearborn.

Ford took in more hybrid orders in Sept 2022 which put more squeeze on rollover orders because of C
Fords greed. I differ, they are to blame for order delays. Still waiting for a simple XL hybrid.

I am getting the same answers now that I got last December from Ford Cust Service. “Your truck is coming up for production.” Last December they said 2 weeks. 3 weeks later they said 2 weeks. 3 weeks later they said 2 weeks. Finally built the end of April. Last week I called and was told January for build date for my ‘23. Dealer says no way they can tell. Over sold and no parts.
If it gets built in January, or I even get a build date in January, I will go to Vegas to use my lucky streak

Well, here's what's going on with my Maverick production. Looks like we're playing the "push-back" game again. Reminds me of the September - December game this year (2022). I lost track of how many times I was pushed back. Suffice to say it was numerous times before being cancelled and eventually rolled over into a MY23. Now for the 23MY push back game. First advised production would be the "week of" January 2. Then I got an actual schedule day of January 4th. Then I got a schedule day of January 6th. Called today (12-19-2022) and got a schedule day of January 12th. So it's like "Groundhog Day" from the September - December game of this year. Just for info, original order date Oct 9, 2021, Lariat Lux hybrid, with all the constraints. MY23 order all accessories/constraints dropped except hybrid and both 360 packages. I'll go to LineX after I get my vehicle and have them install my spray in bed liner. I purchased the floor mats and splash guards from Ford Accessories. Quick arrival, showing that they really are NOT constrained.
