Define "easy." There are brackets for sale out there that allow you to bolt aftermarket pod lights directly to your Maverick, that part is easy. However, to mount in those traditional fog light locations, you'll need to cut openings in the bumper valance. I'd venture to guess most Maverick owners are not willing to do this critical step.

I'm probably going to buy those mounts. But Damn.... they are more expensive than the lights. Kinda makes me want to do it myself.

$65 for this? Are you kidding me?

It is like paying the Plumber or HVAC guy $100 to fix something in 30 seconds with a $5 part, you are paying for the knowledge or sourcing for parts, not the manufacturing price. Or you time is more valuable than the cost of figuring it out on your own, ya know ?

More power to you if you can DIY, but this guy was on the forum and AFAIK it is the closest you can get to dropping in lights without spending a ton of time researching it yourself.

I am a penny pincher, so I will waste 5 hours on something that I could of paid someone $20 to do because I am too cheap to pay for it :ROFLMAO: . I get it.

I just bought the Etsy ones.
I'm palnning on running the Ridigd D-SS Pro's. I have them in my Africa Twin and Honda Element, i love their "Side Shooters" that's the reason i want fog lights. I just gotta worry about the harness, where to connect them and the switch. Might be a bit difficult, tho.

$65 for USA made and stainless seems like a steal to me. Look at "Rigid" brackets, those are $150+ for the same thing but for other models. Here are their Raptor brackets, $200..

Here's a smaller name brand for Bronco, $150..

I designed up a similar bracket to JJC, uploaded file to Send Cut Send and I was going to be paying more than $65 for two simple brackets laser cut. His cut includes (I assume) proper size stainless hardware. The edge trim is a little gimmicky but outside of making a custom lens (even more $$$), what else can you do really? No one is forcing those brackets on you.. I personally don't see how he's making any money on them at that price to begin with. Small batch manufacturing, especially stainless parts are not cheap.

Can you link to where these parts can be bought without a markup ? Genuinely curious.

This dude either found a source, that no one else has located, or is making them himself and taking a cut.

When you buy them I also think you get his detailed instructions on the process. So if you have the skills to fabricate and DIY and the time investment is low enough you consider it worth it, then by all means DIY.

No way if I wanted to add in lights and had the skills and knowledge would $65 eclipse my time and effort to "do it cheaper".

This is exactly why we see manufacturing overseas, look at the Buschur Catch can, people whined about that price for something made in the US, and turn around and buy a copy from some Chinese Amazon/Ebay seller to save a few dollars because it is "just some metal, what justifies that kind of markup?!"

Just my .02.

Check out F150leds.com. They have a remote switch that can work with most any brand of lighting setup. If/when I do fogs, this is how I would install a switch.

The mount "kit" is pretty and looks plug n play. I get it some like that. I may do it too.

Raw materials (you gotta cut & drill) about $10-$12 in mild steel. $20-$22 in 304 stain less (which is not rust proof, it just "stains less").

But ya, cutting & drilling stainless can be a PITA. Not everyone's cup of tea.

It's just crazy to me this fancy wireless controller costs less than solid metal.

Probably because they import 1,000 or whatever of them in a shipping container, economies of scale. If you sourced a zillion of these brackets, you could probably sell them way cheaper too.

I follow what you are saying though.

Same with the Hybrid Mats, no reason that they cost more for a Hybrid other than they didn't make a lot or are late to the game because they were gauging the market, so they probably cost more per unit wholesale at their current quantities. Aggravated the crap out of me shopping for them. Still hard to find some brands, it is like they didn't think the Hybrid would sell so they putzed around getting floor scans.

And I hope you got a lot of views and sales from the discussions here.

Sorry to hear you lost your Mav. That sucks.

Since I've been daydreaming about the mounts, and viewing them regularly in his Etsy store, I get alerts through the Etsy app to come back for Maverick stuff.

It looks like he was able to drop the price a bit for you guys -- wanted to update the club members.

I might just have to pull the trigger and scoop them up, even if it means me sitting on them for a bit and getting my KCs later...
