How to apply X plan?

Pardon me if this is in the wrong sub-forum, could not find one related to purchasing.

I just got a sub to MCA, I know that after 90 days I will get a PIN. My dealer verbally told me that they accept x plan for ordered cars. When I have my PIN I will go to meet my dealer for a signed purchase order. I just want to know the rest of the process, and seem like I know what I’m doing. I have a COVP, and an order for a base XL, have an unscheduled-clean priority 10 status, and I want to make sure I’m going to pay less than MSRP, with no add-ons. I have no reason to think my dealer is anything less than legit at this point. Any advice?

Also, I expect to wait until Nov 23 for delivery, even if it happens at all. Just want to be ahead of the game.

I created the online account, filled out the paperwork with the necessary info, and let my salesman know. The deal on the Mav might have been a couple hundred $$ under MSRP if anything, and capped the doc fees at $299. Our dealer was an MSRP store anyway.

I’m just looking to squash any dealer funny business from my new dealer before it even starts. I’ve had a terrible experience with buying and servicing my Mach-E from Hilltop, and it made me quite wary of Ford dealerships in general. So I just want to do as much due diligence as possible.

Yep. They are the worst, most unethical and incompetent people I have ever done business with.

I told my dealer I would be using the X-plan when I placed my order (not all dealers accept the X-plan but mine did) and was told that nothing had to be done until I picked up the vehicle and then I needed to have my PIN. You need to apply for the PIN on the Ford X plan website just before you pick up the truck.

i didn’t even bother with them, i went with Walnut Creek. i’d heard of successful orders from other owners. so far we’ve done everything online and haven’t had any issues besides one…for some reason every time I ask in an email with other questions, I asked about XPlan and I still haven’t got an answer about that. I know that they have excepted it before as I’ve heard that from other people who successfully used it when purchasing their truck from Walnut Creek Ford.

I never heard of a dealer offering to honor X plan on a Mav order. Certainly not @fordvideoguy 's dealership. Otherwise I would have provided one. I can tell you one back door way to get an X plan is to order a membership to EAA. After 90 days, you are in.

i have it, i suppose because i haven’t really felt empowered to do so. i guess i don’t want to get shot down!

The dealer Offering is one thing, asking the dealer is another. “Closed mouths don’t get fed.” Plenty of people on this forum have reported using x plan.

Okay, but then the statement should be “my dealer said no”. “I’ve never heard of a dealer offering x plan for a Mav order” makes no sense. Some Dealers do, the forum shows this. I’m sorry you couldn’t get x plan.

My dealer also verbally told me X-Plan and any other current incentives that would be available will be honored. He told me that X-Plan would be done in-house for my order since I work for a company that’s been in a long time Ford supplier and customer to this specific dealer.
That doesn’t mean I won’t have my pin ready though.
