I did it backwards… I ordered the Truxedo TruxSport cover off Amazon for about $330, then I started doing some research. The TruxSport is a nice cover, but sits pretty high on top of the bed rails, and has shiny fabric. So, I opted to spend another $200 and get the Pro X15, and I’m 100% glad I did! It looks great on the truck and comes with a lifetime warranty. If you’re on the fence, I definitely recommend splurging a little.

2 questions about the x-15:

1) Does it flap at 50-80 miles per hour?
2) If you lift the edges and pull and reposition the Velcro sides can you remove virtually all wrinkles?

Your cover looks great.

Thanks! Question #2: Yes.
I’ll get back to you about Question #1. I just installed it today. It does seem very taut, though, so hopefully it won’t flap.

You can adjust the tension so that it will not flap. I've gone up to 80ish MPH without any issues. Also search this forum for 'x15 pro' and find Alex from Realtruck. Email him and ask for a better price.

I went a different direction. I went with the Ford Tri Fold and I installed it this afternoon in about an hour Because my reading glasses were dirty And I was a 1/8 inch off. It sits higher than the one you bought. I wanted a rubber seal around the edges to keep dust out of the bed. I also purchased a F-159 tail gate seal kit I will install it in the morning To help keep the lime stone dust out of the bed When driving on gravel roads. Yours was my second choice. The Tri fold has some bows in it for snow and water weight. Looks nice and sits flat around the parameter.

1) Yes, it flaps a bit at almost all speeds. If anyone tells you it doesn't is lying.
2) Almost all wrinkles. You have to roll it completely open and pull from both edges before you start to Velcro it down.

I liked my X15 a lot for the looks aspect, but I got more and more annoyed that I had to open the cover every time I wanted to close the tailgate, and then close the cover. So much so that I switched to a hard cover and have been enjoying that much more.

Wow I did not know that some needed to be open before you close the tailgate. I have has 3 trucks with tonneau and never had to do that.

You just need to pop the lock the close it once the tailgate is shut. You can close it without doing it but the seal is designed to be on top.

It flaps at hwy speeds but I can barely ever hear it and that's with the rear sliding door open. Tbh it's pretty minimal flapping imho.

1. I had the X15 and it flapped for me. Could not get it tight enough. Exchanged for BAK X4S.
2. Yes

Yup. One thing I didn’t like, but was willing to live with, because it was almost half of the BAK X4S. But didn’t like the X15 for other reasons. Happy with the X4S, and very happy I can open & close gate without touching the cover.

I just received my pro x15 and the instructions + included foam blocks were a bit different than the real truck or Truxedo installation video. Did yours come with a thicker bulkhead foam block as well as the smaller triangle blocks to add to the edges of the rails? If so, did you add the larger bulkhead block?

it also seams like one edge of the Velcro is positioned perfectly, but the other seems to overshoot like half of the Velcro strip. maybe I didnt Line it up properly, but wondering if you noticed that as well?

Yes, I got those oversized blocks, too. They're not like the ones in the video, but I used them and they seem to work just fine.
For the velcro, I "think" I understand: push the velcro strip forward in the track all the way toward the cab. This way there's a 1/2-3/4 inch gap at the tailgate end. This way, the cover can stretch and the velcro can slide toward the tailgate as you close it. Hope this helps!

I have X15’s on both my Mavericks and have seen or heard an issue with either of them flapping at highway speed and they are both thighs as a tick with no wrinkles.

I’ve had the one for a year next month (Nov) and the other for 5 months.

I would definitely buy them again. Great quality and a good value.
