Area 51 or Atlas Blue ?

I wanted Velocity Blue, but since Ford dropped that one for MY23 (I missed MY22) I think I prefer Atlas Blue. Alto Blue (which I note you don't have in your survey) is a bit dark for me, and Area 51 doesn't have the metallic finish that I want.

I think velocity blue is beautiful, and didn’t really know of Alto, but it’s too dark for my tastes I think, also for the Florida sun. my Mav will live in Fl and travel to Cally occasionally, so didn’t want it too dark because of getting hot from the sun. My first American truck was a black ford Ranger, loved it, but too hot to touch in the Florida sun..

I'm disappointed in Ford that they don't have an "Electric Blue" color option for the Lightning... Seems to me to be an obvious option...

I never bought a silver or gray vehicle. I've had a few black trucks. I always am specific and want the best color for a vehicle. On my 2000 Lightning, I was only drawn to black though. Only other choices were silver, red or white. The red had damage on the rocker.

My 2003 F150 was black also, so was the 08, I’m not a silver type person either, and white is just a canvas to add graphics. Lol..
the lighting was/is a lovely truck, the flareside with the unique taillights was a work of art..

I do that occasionally, my transit will go that way in a few weeks, but the transit is a business vehicle, the Mav is personal, so I don’t want to “Tart” it.. (British slang). Means make it garish ..

Yes, Totally logical to me.. but car companies and logic are not always bedfellows.. lol.

My 2022 (In transit, and currently in Kansas City, so I should have it in a few days) is Area 51, but if I had to do it over again and my only two choices were between A51 and Atlas Blue, I would do the Atlas Blue.

I think it’s just great it’s on its way, no matter the color.. lol. These Mavs are so hot it’s silly ford hasn’t upped production. But I think they are keeping demand to maximize profits.. but congrats..

I will agree, that striping would not look out of place on the original maverick. .. it’s a very good rebirth of the look. its well done.. with the white painted wheels he nailed the look. It may need a little wood grain beading around those graphics though.. lol.

I think dealerships used to have inventory that did this service. They are just slow to adapt to the new stock reality.
dealerships have not been “salespersons” in a longtime, more like ”checkout personnel”. Lol

So very true. Ford has its moments. The mustang, the GT, the Maverick.. lol. But then they have the Edsel, the Anglia.. and so many more.. to be fair, they are evolving quite well, they allow others to make the big jumps and then ford will see who wins or loses, then bet heavy with a stacked deck.. not a bad way for a company that is as big as it is..

Even more obvious would have been Ford Paint Code N6 - Lightning Blue Metallic.

I do think I shall side with the Atlas also. I think I fell in love with the lighting blue on the mustang about 2015. Worked beautifully on the mustang.,

I can see your logic, it’s kind of why I started this thread.. I love the metallic blues, but blue as a whole is nice.. so I threw it at the club for opinions.. thank you..

I am starting to like the flat non-metallic colors showing up on cars these days. That’s why it was between cactus grey and Area 51 for me.
