Finally after ordering my Maverick July 2021, it is scheduled to arrive at my dealership mid September 2022. I honestly thought they had forgotten about me. A year and two months is a really long wait in my opinion.

Do you guys think I have a case for asking for some freebies? I'm thinking an extended warranty, tint jod, or even the gap insurance. Anybody in a similar situation? Did you ask and get free stuff? Thanks

Why would you get free stuff? You are far from the only one to have waited a very long time. Your dealership is not to blame for the delay so it's hard to imagine them giving you anything for free.

But the worst they can say is "no".

It's all car manufacturers that have constraints.. I got mine last month after a 13 month wait. All I wanted was a good dealer experience and that's what I got!

I know I'm not the only one. Just curious if others have asked, and what they might have received. Thanks for the reply.

Never hurts to ask... Though the wait isn't the dealership's fault. Not to mention, if you were so disgruntled was to not accept your order, they'd be happy as hell.
Take your truck and be happy it came. While your wait was a long one, plenty of folks have had to wait as long or longer.

I think anyone can ask for anything for whatever reason they wish. Doesn't mean any good will come of it.

I know the dealer does not have the margin to throw in an ESP. Nor do they have any incentive to give you anything other than the deal you agreed to with them (hopefully with a firm price in writing including any applicable taxes and fees).

You do know that it's not the dealer's fault that you had to wait for the truck, and that the dealer most likely has a long list of customers looking for a Maverick who would buy it for above MSRP? What's the incentive to comp you anything?

Push too hard for freebies and they'll either tell you to take it or leave it, or just refuse to sell it to you.

Others on here have had dealers lie about their vehicle being damaged and thus unavailable for sale, have had vehicles sold out from under them, etc. Tread carefully. Ask once politely if you wish, and accept when they say no.
