Side body moulding

Same as Amazon. I just received my molding in carbonized gray. The product is great. American made. They shipped them in a hard tube and they were wrapped in a cloth sleeve to keep them from getting damaged during shipping.

Oh yeah so they are. But Amazon doesn't seem to offer the lower version which I think looks sleeker. Maybe not as effective though, but still a better look.

Has anyone found a moulding to apply to the doors to prevent thoughtless people parked next to us from dinging our doors with theirs. With all that open flat space on the Mav doors, it is a must for me.

The OEM moulding is far too low on the door to be useful. Need something to go mid door

Yes - here's what I used :



It works well. The trick is to use painter's tape along the natural bend on the door as a guide. I went up 7 inches from the bottom guide. The pics should hopefully be self explanatory.

For a minute it looks as though they aren't there. (BTW, clicking on the photo did not enlarge). The look is more closely aligned with the exterior design of the Maverick. Nice addition to an already beautiful ride.

Looks like I grabbed the small version. Just edited my post above, so try again. Here's a close-up though.

I don't park unless its away from people or an edge parking spot. I even went 3 times in-n-out of a Disney parking garage till i found the right spot… 73 and never had a door ding

After my 06' Montego looked like a shopping cart dent magnet moulding became a must for my 13" Fusion (sold) and current 18' Edge. All of the retouched dings on the Edge are on the moulding.

Granted, the apex of the maverick's door is lower than most. I'm getting them installed by my dealer just above that spot. The door handles jut out a lot more than most vehicles. I'll opt for a second (body colored) strip if the originals don't protect the body like I hope.

Lastly, I still park the Edge at the far ends of parking lots because I'm not too lazy to return my cart to the corral.

I have looked at body moldings on a site called Sport Wings. Checked out the ones for a Ranger. They color match them. Seems a Ranger 4 door would be close to the same size as a Maverick. Would find the center height point on the door and use a level to apply masking tape to keep it straight. This is what I plan on doing.

Just saw the post on the ones from Dawn Industries. Will check them out. Placement will be a judgement call. Have to use my other cars door open height to mark approximate contact point. This will vary with cars but just have to average out the majority of cars door striking height. Just hope you park beside a car that is in that range.

My experience with Dawn Industries products is good. Good color match. Durability and longevity is good.

I pick my truck on Monday. I plan on doing a "luxury protection package" post since I also had a SIBL, hood deflector and ceramic coating done. I'll wait and see if second (body colored strips) will make sense near the door handles.
