I priced one. It came out to $3200 with the single handle rear window, the folding and sliding front window, and the sliding win-doors on both sides. Also got the Yakima racks. I plan on getting cab racks aswell. All total I should be able to haul 650lbs up there evenly distributed. Static weight that is good enough for our RTT if we take it out of the tree its current sitting on. I was initially thinking DCU for the stronger construction but this one looks so good and is alot cheaper and thats without me cutting windows and vents in the doors. It reall makes me want to just craft my own out of aluminum that has a built in awning and RTT or just pop up headroom and use my old tent annex to close in the bottom.

Looks great.

I miss having a topper for my truck. I used to sleep in my old '89 Toyota Pickup with a long bed. But the Maverick's bed is too short for me to sleep in, so I'm not getting a topper.

All of that said, I have wondered about some kind of cloth extension that I could snap over the open tailgate and topper to keep my feet dry and the bugs out. If someone made something like that, I might consider a topper at some point.
Sounds like a DAC truck tent. I have one off a pre-2011 ranger I could let go of for cheap, or you can get them here:

I like them better than the ford one for sure! Still think black that matches the plastic would be the way to go for me. Need some roof racks on those suckas too.

I think slightly textured matte black (it's a Jeep color) would be perfect. And maybe single piece windows, though I do want venting for when the doggo is back there on mild days (On hot or cold days he'll be in the cab, on field day's he'll be in an insulated crate in the bed).

I've gone back and forth on this. I loved the look of the matte black on the snugtop that another guy posted but I don't think it works as well with the ARE. Think I'm going with the paint match.

Just heard from a local cap dealer. They have a Jason mid-rise cap arriving in few weeks. No quote or details. That would be another choice.

I’m not sure if this has been covered but i finally found a pic of the ARE V series that they were taking pre orders on.
This looks way better than the snug top ford one.

what’s your input?

no clue on price, just saw it and Posted it.

I like it! Very clean looking. More details: price, sources, weight. What's that extension on the hitch? For towing with the gate down?

So its $2300. I don't know much about these caps. You buy it direct from manufacturer? local dealer? Anyone have a link to where to buy one of these. Does it have a way for third brake light to work/show?

You buy from a local dealer. You can find one here: https://www.4are.com/build/?ref=Local

Yes it'll have a wiring harness that connects to the left tail light. You can see the harness in the photos in post #18.

I just ordered one in Canada today. I like the look of it way better than the Snugtop and I also want to customize it to my liking. I ordered the flip open side windows so you can get at all areas of the bed without climbing in. Also got the flip down rear window so it's easier to clean and no carpet along the inside of the canopy. Didn't add any lighting or anything else.

The Snugtop was quoted as $4918 plus taxes from the dealer. The V-Series (as I specced it) is $4310 +taxes so ~$600 cheaper and the custom side windows are $1k so it would be even cheaper without them. Both prices are absurd though. I paid like $3500 for a Z-series with all the options on my F150 in 2017. Both Ford and ARE quoted a 6-8 week turnaround for the canopy too. (all CAD prices)

Will update on how the ordering goes and will post photos when I get it. Don't even have my Maverick yet though so I'm not in a rush. It's currently in purgatory at the rail yard here for some reason.
Thanks for sharing the Canada specs n prices. My Lariat is stuck in Vancouver too….in the same railyard.
