Toyota doesnt accept custom orders. A dealer can request options/models but it has no ties to a customer. So there builds is not getting pushed cause they dont have one.
That’s not true lol we have a tundra in order as we speak….

No your dealer has an order for you.. But its your dealers order not yours.
How is that different lol in the context of what you said previously about build dates not getting bounced around… a dealer’s build date that theyve given you claim to is being moved around lol its not different

Its different cause you dont have an order from Toyota so your order is not being bumped around. The people on this forum actually have an order from ford and their order is being bumped around.
So it is impossible for an end buyer for Toyota to get their order bumped because at this time Toyota doesnt have custom orders. Not sure how much clearer i can be.

lol they still put an order together and submit it to the factory with your specific build. So its still your vehicle Thats being made. So whether or not it technically belongs to you, or the dealer, it’s still your build date lol that’s why these people are getting build date updates from their dealers on the Toyota forum. Yikes. Why am i talking to a crazy person. This isn’t even related to the ops question anymore. If you wanna believe you can’t custom make a Toyota, despite being able to build and price and purchase and order a vehicle custom built to your specifications… Welp. That’s your baby i guess. Enjoy your ignorance

Just wanted to share. Ordered my Hybrid Maverick on 9/30/2021. I know Ford is not great at communication, I get that. But I get an email telling me that my build date is the week of 6/7/2022... on 6/10/2022 I get an email stating that my build date has been moved to the week of 6/27/2022. And last night 6/28/2022 I get a new email letting me know that my build date if moved again... this time to 7/25/2022. What the heck is going on over there!!! I wonder at what date my 2022 truck will become a 2023?
September 8 order here. Got a build date of June 08, then June 25. Now I got pushed to July 25.

at this point I’m wondering how much the 2023 Colorado is gonna cost

Well, I have been griping about my hybrid XLT taking so long, but I guess in perspective, it has not been so bad. Ordered on 6/30/21, and the build date got moved from April to May. It was built on May 26 and shipped on June 2. I called the dealership this week and they said it was last scanned in Illinois on June 12. Called Ford directly this evening and they said it is in Orlando waiting on a fleet truck to get it to the dealership. Maybe next week? We'll see.

But once a VIN is assigned, the dealer can track it. It may not be a "custom" order, but it has been allocated to a dealership, and can be tracked just like the Maverick.

What number did you call to talk to someone at ford directly?
