Hi everyone! Im new to the group and would like some advice. I just got a call yesterday saying a customer order didn’t go through for a maverick hybrid XTL with luxury package. The hybrids are extremely hard to get right now. They are doing a 4k markup! Do you think it’s worth the mark up or should I just wait it out? I just don’t know if I want this opportunity to slip since I don’t know when I will be able to get a hold on another hybrid. So my question is would you pay the 4k mark up or is that just crazy talk?! Lol thanks!
Ordered an XLT hybrid last September and just got email it will be built the week of June 13. My salesman says there is no markup and remains at agreed to price on the original paper we signed on 9/2021. I guess I'll find out in a month or so if that's true.

You think 4k is bad, one of our dealers in Phoenix is demanding $38k for a stripped XL hybrid with a sticker of $21,500. The “No Bull” guy here in Phoenix area.

Wow.. that’s nuts. I paid $31k for xtl hybrid with Lux package and spray in bed liner.

Dealerships have no shame. F them

That is what I told them. I bought new cars from them before. Will never set foot on their lots again. My wife wanted a Maverick since she loves mine. Guess will wait till August and buy one from the good dealer, Sanderson, when August comes.

Really depends on how badly you want one! I had one on order and cancelled it because Ford was recommending I drop some items so I could maybe get my order started on the build. I want what I want which is why I ordered mine, so I cancelled and Im going to wait. I personally would not pay the mark up, that's just me you have to do what is best for you. Good luck, do what you think is best

WOW! I sure wouldn't shop there anymore. I stopped shopping at a dealer I have done business with for years, only dealt with Fleet manager never a lot salesman, always had a good experience. They were family owned, guess what! Family sold it and it was bought by a huge dealership with many lots. No morals at all, I was thinking on trading in my Ranger for a newer one, I have a 2019. Every time I would look online and see one that I was interested in the Fleet manager would get back to me and tell me that was sold days ago! This happened a few times, he said he told sales not to do this, guess they didn't listen. False advertising! I hate buying cars..love driving them home though

It's really a shame, what's happening and what the dealerships are getting away with.

I don't think it's going to get better any time soon. People are lucky that they got the negotiation price was locked in writing.

I guess the dealer could instead of standing by the price even in writing, just say we lost your order, or it got cancelled, which i see these stories popping up as well.

This is why I got lucky and only had to pay $2500 mark up, I got one though and every time I fill it up i win. Every time the fuel goes up and every time Ford pushes them back, That $2500 mark up is not looking bad at all.

See if they throw in some extra stuff like oil changes, or a few of the extra after add-ons like if it doesn’t have it like tonneau cover, rack or other things. It’s worth a shot.
Mine gave 2 years of all maintenance paid for. They charge $210, but Ford rebated the $210, so cost nothing.

no, i haven't, i would test drive it first before pulling the trigger. Anything I should know? What do you think of it?
Well, I have a 2016 Mustang GT convertible that I love. But since I got my Maverick, I never drive the Mustang. Mav is just more enjoyable, believe it or not.

i def. I dont NEED it. and the 4k over won't hurt the bank, if anything the payment will be lower since I'm trading in a more expensive car (2022 santa cruz) but i would be trading all the bells and whistles for great MPG. I drive a lot and would really benefit from the hybrid compared to my 22 mpg santa cruz AWD turbo. Just paying more money than what the car is actually worth is a hard pill to swallow.
Yeah, but I am getting 50 mpg with the Mav. So it might be worth it.

Ford is going to be cracking down on the unscrupulous dealers who are putting markups on these vehicles. These are the kind of people who give car dealers bad names. They are greedy and dishonest. I ordered my hybrid on Oct. 29th and am waiting patiently. There will be no markup with my dealer.
