Nice. In the picture it looks like a semi gloss finish. Is that correct or is it more matte?
So in this thread you are MDmaverick. In the thread "Do I have a recourse" you were MaverickMD and were the OP. I asked you to show some paperwork in that thread; I still think it is likely that thread was a troll. So which are you are you Matt? MDmaverick or MaverickMD or neither???

I guess it is possible that someone "stole" your info and '''trolled" you in the other thread...

I also checked the thread you mentioned. The OP is probably located further south than me. I ordered a Xl hybrid (9.21.21) and slated production as of now is 6th June.

Should have just spent the extra $150-200 for a professional job
I do not understand adding a bedliner if it’s going to look like that
Should have just left the painted bed finish and saved the money and time you spent

I understand Maryland has lots of people, so it is entirely possible that there are two Matts on the forum. It just struck me as strange that the names, the state were the same, and one was MDmaverick and the other was MaverickMd. It appears there are two Matts and I apologize. Peace!

I've been pretty happy with my Herculiner rolled ZJ coating. I do regret listening to the dabbing instructions. I think the corners and edges would have turned out better brushed-in. But alas we only used 1 gallon on the whole Jeep so I think we can roll on a second coat(which I already have) and spruce it up a bit.

Not sure what you mean, I use my truck beds…. That’s why I have bought trucks

If you don’t care how your bed looks then why spend your time and money to make it look different? (As it does not look better than it did before)

Real question

My dad has zero desire to get a bedliner when his truck arrives, scratches in the bed give it character
He def would not spend two days and $200 to make it look worse

Haha youre cute. 1: it doesnt look worse. 2: its purpose is to protect it… the sole purpose of a bed liner lol how am i having to explain this
3: if you wanna claim scratches add character you dont use your truck lol trucks used for truck things with no liners get more than scratches. And rust doesnt build character lol it decreases value. Anyeays im done with you lol if you dont like my bedliner thats your business lol youre probably still waiting for your truck and bitter anyways lol

Ok to clarify my comment
Nothing looks better than a fresh body colored bed
Now once you start using the truck it gets all scratched and ugly so people spray in bed liners to keep the appearance looking consistent over time

Professional sprayed bed liners hold up to the stresses of constant use quite well
My previous bed liners looked nearly as good as day one other than some marking here or there
Was not too hard were it would mar up what was in the bed and had the added effect of some sort of grip to items sitting in the bed and to some extent so shock protection to the bed (maybe keeping it from denting? Not sure)

This DIY bedliner looks like it has none of the benefits of a professional bed liner application
This looks like what you would put in a 15 year old truck to freshen up the already scratched and used bed

I am just amazed someone would use it on a brand new freshly painted bed
On top of that not even bothering to mask the edges for a cleaner look

If you like it and think it looks great, awesome that’s your opinion
My opinion differs greatly

It was really to cover the foil tape that is holding the rust in on my wifes daily driver.

Unfortunately that hybrid lariat is just the first one on island that i saw where i could park next to it. For reference the maverick is a suitable replacement for a jeep ZJ. My v8 laredo could tow a bitmore and had more torque but is a lil down on power. Also fulltime 4x4.

Hey everyone.

got my truck on thursday. Decided to forgo the spray/drop in from my build and purchase a DIY option instead.

herculiner 1 galon kit from amazon. Here in canada its about$200. I assume from amazon.com its like 130-150. I decided to go with herculiner for the following reasons:

-i didnt want to have to tape off the truck for a spray on application. I have all the necessary tools for spray on… but didnt want the hastle

-i wanted a thicker coat than spray on provides

-i decided that if im being cheap and doing the DIY option i should at least get rhe best rated and thickest product. Hence why i didnt choose the tremclad/other options.

-it was also the only one that ships to canada in a convenient gallon kit instead of quarts … (im certain i spelled the wrong quarts)

install review:

-took much longer than expected. Took a couple hours to properly scuff the whole bed.

-requires two coats. Its not too bad. Itdries so quick you can sit in the middle of the bed, first coat the sides, back, and first couple feet of the bed, then just restart for second coat. Then you hop out and do the last half of the bed and the tail gate from the ground.

-finished product is great. Thick textured coating. Hard to the touch. Feels very durable. The day after iapplied we had a torrential downpour. No run off. It had completely set by then (thank the lord lol)

-you absolutely need a galon kit to do these liners properly. I used 90% of my galon. The only extra thing i did was coat one side of a half sheet of mdf im going to use to double protect the bed floor. (Like a cheaper rigid bed mat)

Amazon is 104.00 free shipping. Did your kit include skuff pads ? And did you take inner tailgate cover off ? Tks VP
